The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Speed and a proven glove for CF at a reasonable price. I like it. Nimmo can shift over to LF. Things are picking up. Now if we can resign Stroman (or another front line starter) we will be onto something.

Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Billy Eppler seems to know what he's doing.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Marlon Byrd had a pretty good 2013 in blue and orange. We used to call him "Fish Bird" in our house.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 My assessment so far:I wouldn't have pursued Canha if I was closing in on Marte, because I think Smith has more upside at a lower price. But that being said I like that Eppler got to work quickly and decisively. A lot. I also like that he made multiple moves for useful pieces instead of going for one big, overpriced splash. Any notion that people may have had yesterday that nobody wants to come here, or that the Mets were in no position to pull the trigger on anything, is gone.I also think that everybody is working on the assumption that this time next week there will be a work stoppage. The free agent market is already in full gear a lot more quickly than it normally does, and I expect that to accelerate this week.
