I'm with Radar on this. They're right - this team is demonstrably worse now than it was when he took over, and the future overall looks grimmer too. For a team that is supposed to be able to afford the best and the brightest, they're just... not.
I saw it in one of these threads here yesterday from someone, and it's spot on: If Stearns' preference is for short-term deals so he's not hamstrung moving forward, then you're going to get guys who will sign short-term deals. Superstars... don't sign short-term deals. They just don't. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. And I don't like it any more than you.
