And realistically, because almost everyone makes the playoffs, as putrid as this team has been, they're still only five and a half out of a spot. I mean, yes, they have to jump over a lot of teams, but it's not mathematically impossible.
I always vote party line (all Mets) in the NL, and then the worst possible players at each position in the AL. (Unless there's somebody I particularly like over there for some reason.)
Hey, look, we keep losing the first two and winning the third one every time? We'll still suck, but at least we'll end each series with high fives across the infield. It's all about winning the emotional battle, watching the other team celebrate before you have to pack up.
