Least Favorite Player On The Mets Rival

I'll pose the same question that Ken Tremendous (otherwise known as the brilliant Michael Schur) posed on Twitter:

"Least favorite player on your favorite MLB team's rival team?"

It's up to you who the Mets' biggest rival is. It can be STL (a satisfying number of replies on Twitter listed Molina), MFY, PHI, ATL, WSH... your call. There are no wrong answers.

I'll start: Ryan Zimmerman. He doesn't seem like a bad guy but he exists and David Wright doesn't. They were pals in Virginia Beach--when either reached 3B you could see the other find an excuse to clean the area between where he was standing and the base so they could gab--but David couldn't overcome his injuries and Zimmerman is still playing so I resent him every time he plays. And he lasted long enough to get a Ring.

Bryce, by default, maybe? It's tough. None of them seem to be especially dickish (or trolling nearly as hard) as some of our favorite friends of the past. I mean, I dislike the lowball long-term-lockdown-favoring, white-flight-courting, Wahoo-loving organization-- and, to an extent, some of the fans-- more than I do any of the players. Love me some Acuna and Albies. Swanson is just kinda there. Even FF Freeman is okay with me.

I'm the same way with Wolfy wrt Chipper, who was a villian for sure,, but that made him a great opponent. And Freddie, what's to hate? He's a terrific competitor and seems like a good character too.



Guys like Harper who come off as though they are separate from the fray and seemingly waste a portion of their ability to contribute to competition.

I think BH enjoys playing the heel so much that it dampens the true impact of his game.



I think he's the ideal villain because he's a villain if you're shallow enough to get suckered into his heel act, and he's a villain if you look deeper and see that it's all a game and that he needs the attention and it makes him less of a player.



Jumping ship from one rival to another? Forgetting which team he plays for at the introductory press conference? He's a double dick. He's playing the dick without realizing he's a bigger dick than the one he's playing.



He's the kind of dick who gets publicly throttled by his own teammates, and gets his manager fired for it.

And FFF is a terrific guy as well as an amazing player. I hate that he kills us but I respect the hell out of him.



I forgot about Trevor Bauer. That guy is such a scumbag I don't even consider him in the regular “hated rivals” context.

I agree with all of the above. I also kind of like Aaron Judge whose quality as a player as dropped off enough that I can't even hate him for being good.
