  1. We just had the same week as last week.
  2. Regardless of any standings, a series win against the Braves would be nice. We have our best pitcher on the mound. Maybe he can pitch like it.
  3. I’m done with David Stearns. He’s had three years of $300M+ payrolls and never sniffed a division race. Never won 90 games. Team getting worse each year. This year’s team is 29th in MLB in OPS. 26th in runs scored. A combination of bad roster construction and somehow getting the worst of the guys we have here. That second part is the biggest problem. I think he’s smart. And if he acknowledged such failures and talked about re-examining the system he’s instituted to see why this is happening, I’d be ok with riding it out to see what happens. But he doesn’t. He talks about staying the course. Doubling down with Mendoza. Insisting that his way will eventually work out. “The players need to perform” Yes David. But why aren’t they performing? And what are you doing that’s preventing that from happening?
  4. Just saw the score. I’m guessing Manaea must have been pretty good. How did he look? This lineup cannot hit any lefties. I would try Jared Young anyway. Why not see what he can do.
  5. Well. That certainly is a lineup.
  6. Not likely to have Williams or Raley today. Would be nice to have Tobias Myers to slot in behind Manaea. Not feeling terribly optimistic about these last two.
  7. He appears to have come through.
  8. Big moment for Bichette
  9. So the Braves are over performing and the crash down to mean is going to be cruel and epic. Got it.
  10. No one picked Jared Young and his .890 OPS. In fact, not only did we not pick him, we didn’t even mention him.
  11. The problem with apathy, is that the losses don't hurt as much, but the wins aren't as glorious. Yay Mets.
  12. Wheels falling off
  13. Another game I won’t tune into. It’s like the Mets don’t exist.
  14. Did we really start Austin Warren? I get he’s having a good year, but that seems a bit much.
  15. Which is why it makes sense to try him out now to see what you have. And if not Kai, then whoever else the Mets might be considering. Back to the original point, we know it’s not Mendoza.
  16. I’ve heard Kai Correa being mentioned as a potential future manager. I know nothing about him. But considering the incumbent, I’m more than ready to try whatever is behind Door Number 1. I’d be fine with whatever external candidate is around as well. I went with the assumption that there aren’t many external guys who would take an interim label. But sure. Again, anything but status quo. I don’t know if any of the Mets coaches would make a good manager. They don’t seem to be very good coaches.
  17. I freed up in time to catch the second half of this game. But by the time I checked the score it was pointless. So a second straight night of no baseball. 2026 is going to be the season that never happened. And 2027 might actually not happen.
  18. Is there a person alive that thinks Mendoza should be back in 2027? Obviously not. So there’s no sense in keeping him around. The remainder of 2026 should be an audition for the strongest in house candidate on an interim basis. at least you can gauge what you have.
  19. This is bad. Anytime you think they might do something, the 2026 Mets remind you who they are.
  20. Mets have the pitching advantage tonight. Take the W. This is when the 2024 team went on a run. If they don’t do it now, you can’t make those comparisons anymore.
  21. The Mets have won 7 of their last 10, which is a .700 win percentage. That will certainly get it done! The problem is, just before that, they lost 7 of 8, which is a .125 win %. That's not likely to get us to the postseason. But just before that, they went on a stretch where they were 10-4 (.714). Amazing! But just before that was the 4- stretch that included losing 12 in a row. (.181) Not ideal. But just before that, we were 7-4 (.636) So yes, the 2026 Mets are little streaky.
  22. 3-3. Not good. Not bad. But better than I was expecting. The Mets can win the St Louis series. Let’s win 2 of 3.
  23. Hard to picture Polanco coming back this season. I think he and Robert may be out until further notice.
  24. Their Hayden Senger just beat us. The Mets suck.
