But I'll also miss being a fan of a team that hadn't had a no-hitter in its 50 years of existence. Just like I rooted for the Tigers to play better than .250 ball a few years ago.Johan is Bionic.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. My family watched it all unfold together too. My brother, who oddly enough is in St. Louis, joined us via text message. As soon as the last out was recorded my phone blew up. I'm telling you, baseball is wonderful. Some part of me always suspected that when it finally happened the Mets would find a way to lose the game. I never thought it would be this great. Incidental awesome thing, RA goes tomorrow and is a threat to make it back to back no nos.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I think Santana just proved why he's the ace.I couldn't be happier for him.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I continue to not believe this actually happened.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I know it might be a small thing as he has been in the game for years but listening to Terry and his emotion but also his sense of what was happening and it's place in Mets history, glad it was him.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I missed it as well. I was at a bar after a party and they broke in and out of the Brewer game to show the last four outs.At first I was pissed I has missed the whole game...but how can I stay pissed about something like this?

metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 that really was a great takedown on the guy who ran onto the field.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Damn I didn't see the locker room speech I'll have to watch that online somewhere. His on-the-field interview was fantastic.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I can't believe how every ball in the 7-8-9 inning seemed destined to fall in.Don't remember being this jumpy in a game in a long time. After how it's been the past few years, especially last year, I feel like there have been a few moments in 2012 that made me think "Oh right, that's why I watch baseball."I feel so good I feel like I could visit Eastern Europe again.
