After seeing Wilder as The Waco Kid no one else could fill that role, but it would have been interesting if Gig got the gig. He might have had a career resurgence like Lesley Nielsen.
  2. Beautifully written. I forgot all about Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother! I must see that again. Really hard to pick a favorite Wilder flick. All the Brooks films are classic. Willy Wonka has become a yearly tradition w/me, like The Wizard Of Oz was when we were kids. 3. OOO, Thor keeping runners close! Nice play Walker. OE:dammit

People looking at the closer as a "full time player" is probably the reason for the disparity in that ranking and why out of the entire aggregate list Familia being so high is the thing i have the biggest problem with. I calls 'em as I sees 'em.
  5. Cespedes is that high on my list for more than just his numbers. His presence changed the entire way pitchers approached our lineup. If you want to go by numbers alone he far surpassed my expectations. Duda let me down in a way. I had higher hopes for him in 2015. Too streaky. He did his share of carrying the team but for what I felt was a shorter burst of games. I might be being rough on Duda because I hoped for more from him. He should be smackin' 35 and driving in 100. Sheesh, 80 RBI from The Lumberjack would do me good.

I just copied it and moved the names around.
  7. *MOVIE SPOILER=GARP* I remember that the end of Garp was very upsetting to me. It was shortly after Lennon was killed and I didn't expect the flick to end that way, even though IIRC you kind of saw it coming. Great movie but not sure of my fav. I've never seen Dead Poets Society. What Dreams May Come= this movie pulls at your heartstrings throughout. Beautifully acted, fantastic cinematography and amazingly colorful at times--were they sets or CGI?- I don't know. One of the saddest movies Ive ever seen. I would recommend it. In a recent commercial what he said, and his quote from Whitman, struck a major chord with me, every time I heard it. We dont read and write poetry because its cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, O me, O life of the questions of these recurring. Of the endless trains of the faithless. Of cities filled with the foolish. What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer: that you are here. That life exists and identity. That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?
  8. I'm glad this was done (split). I feel that I have a lot more to say but it feels all jumbled up. I'm more bummed over this today than I was yesterday, which surprises me.
  9. I don't think anyone ever made me laugh as much or as hard. RIP
  10. This is pretty funny. [youtube:8uulcj5x]-G4Y8JtT1j0[/youtube:8uulcj5x]

  13. Bales gonna be a hard act to follow for anyone. I'm a lifelong (since before Adam West) batfan and I am just as passionate about the bat as I am about the Mets. But the Mets are real. Batman isn't. People imagine and reimagine the character. I observe and sometimes I love whats done and sometimes I hate it. I give a shit but just not on a scale with other more serious fans. I just enjoy the fact that Batman is up there and being made in movie form. There was a long time there between the 60s Batman and Keaton. All that empty bat screen time, that's what really sucked. Everyone says that Affleck is this way or that way and because of other roles not fit to play this one. Batman is a great juicy established role. So now we'll see if Affleck can act. I've seen Affleck in many other things and from the characters he played I think Batman will be a departure for him (I have never seen Daredevil-well, a few minutes on TV once). This role will take a special performance. Does he have it in him? We'll see. If he don't, yea, bummer, itll suck. And until they make another (they will, even if it takes 20 years) I'll just pop in the last two and watch em, so far the best Batman in the movies imo. I just hope they don't go the camp/humor route with this one. I want this to be epically serious.
  14. Big backlash in regards to this. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but come-on, it's just a movie. If he sucks, then he sucks. He's an actor, he got a role. Let him do his job. My Tumblr comic feed has been lightin it up.
