I'm weary of Peralta having the "Ace" moniker. He's got eight seasons with only two having an ERA under 3.00. I would expect regression to his mean next year, which would be a good but not amazing (feel free to prove me wrong, Freddy). I like the trade, but he is a middle of the rotation guy most years. -

He will be a liability for them in the latter end of the deal. We got his best years. Hadn't expected him to return. However, this team has no identity right now. I can't even see what the front office is trying to do. SHOW ME THE PLAN!

I liked it...been a long time since I've watched it. Good performances all around and a compelling story. Certainly a little hokey toward the end, but if it came on the TV, I wouldn't turn the channel.

Expansion and Realignment (split from Aug 17 IGT)

Baseball is losing me as a fan more and more each year. All of this **** has XFL'd the league compared to 20 years ago. Yeah, it's baseball, I guess, but it is not what it was for the first 40 years of my life. Insert "old man yelling at clouds" meme here. Expansion/realignment needs to be 8 divisions of 4 teams. East/West for playoffs and awards. I would advocate for teams playing everyone in their division 24 times then ONLY 3 games against EVERY other non-division team flipping home and away each season. Cut down on travel and really emphasize the divisional races and rivalries. It would have been SOOOO much better if they would have waited to universalize the DH until any expansion/realignment occurred. Manfred has pretty much ruined the game for me. -

By my count, Pete Alonso needs 27 home runs to pass Darryl Strawberry as the Mets all-time HR leader. Predict the date he becomes the Mets HR King. For reference, these are other dates he hit HR #27 during a single season in his career: 2019: June 23 2021: August 1 2022: August 1 2023: July 25 2024: August 17
