  1. Holy shit, I have a lot of posts all of a sudden.
  2. Wow. They actually won the damn thing.
  3. Holy cow, Devin Williams is actually ahead of a count
  4. Yeah but it always just feeeels so tenuous. Like at times they score runs despite themselves. curious what their more clutchy stats look like. Are they notably worse or better with risp, and how does that shift compare to the rest of the league.
  5. I’d like to not have too many asses on the roster next year, but, well, if nice guys finish last, this current group of players must be just swell. And you’d think that would make them easy to root for, but that just ain’t the case. so I guess, yeah, let’s bring in a new batch of jerks.
  6. I particularly love #4 but would make a small change to it. -> every time a Mets catcher drives in a run, $800 to the foundation. Yeah Carter had pop, but I think of him as more of a run producer and this creates some separation from the preexisting home run donations.
  7. I was soooooo confused like holy shit NOOOOOO what is happening here they’ve both finally snapped and the new site is fucking dooooooooomed. Glad they eventually quoted the guy for context. I hate when people reply online to very specific parts of threads and don’t include quotes for context.
  8. Phooey. time to bring up wenninger…?
  9. This is the whole season right here in this series. if the Mets show up and show out, and fucking fight, - I don’t necessarily mean win, but fight, scratch, claw for it - then I believe they can pilot in another grimace run On the other hand, if they lay down, bend over, and/or get on their knees - then there’s simply no reason to turn on another Mets game this year. no pressure, guys. No pressure!
  10. Gotta get that tag down by the feet. Make them go through the tag to get to the base. Tagging up gets you to hit their body, sure, but risks giving up the run. He had his glove in the right spot, but then picked it up out of the way
  11. What do you think actually is the David stearns offensive approach, because whatever the Mets are doing right now, it’s nothing like what I’m used to seeing from the brewers.
  12. I was gonna say, damn, the poor kid just can’t catch a break, but that’s unfortunately not the case.
  13. That was weird… they actually won, and a rather dominating 8th and 9th, to boot.
  14. I want Ronny Mauricio to be a real thing so badly.
  15. We were never* this bad on the old site. Bring back the cpf! Down with GCM! Down with Brock! Bring on the pitchforks! Alert the angry mob, damnit. *I didn’t check. We probably have been.
  16. I don’t think the players are quite possibly this bad. something is wrong in the clubhouse. Which could be a player problem of course and not a manager problem necessarily, but it falls on the manager to fix it - and he’s clearly not doing that. maybe nobody can but it’s time to try someone different. the team has had three deep stretches like this in his tenure. it’s time to put a stop to it. (and I’m usually not a fire the manager type guy!)
  17. That don’t look so good does it. but there wasn’t a whole lot of interest in him overall. Big worries about his swing and miss. Otherwise he’d be somewhere other than the south side.
  18. I also wonder how Mendoza still has the job. not that he’s necessarily a bad manager or has the wrong messaging, because I think he’s exuding a message of calmness and what not. But goddamn it is not resonating with this group of overly-pressing try-hards.
  19. Nobody likes smart guys. They seem like know it alls and people like to root for know it alls to be wrong, even when they are actually smart people who know a lot. me I want my gm and pobo to be dumb as rocks.
  20. I am always optimistic. Always. sometimes it’s the only way I can get through the day. the team is better than they have played. mind you, I might need to move the goalposts of what my optimism is about… like… winning the division perhaps… but I’m optimistic about… something.
  21. I think it’s all about approach. I also think that one of the biggest problems is Lindor, in that with Lindor, he’s always far too willing to take the burden onto his own shoulders, instead of spreading and reinforcing a message of trusting your teammates and doing the job together. I mean, accountability is great, but I feel like he’s always _too_ accountable, and that gets to be infectious in a bad way. relax. Trust your brother in metly arms. Go out and have fun.
  22. Piazza definitely got Clemens, but… ohhhhh…. Sorry. not sorry. piazza - maddux
