Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 The Cards are on an 8 game losing streak.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Since June 8th, the Twinkies have gone 19-2. Over that time span, they have gained 1.5 games on the first place team in their division.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Is this the first time we hit 21 over .500 this year?Edit: Hmmm, we're actually only 20 over. The boxscore from Yahoo had a record of 59-38 showing under the NY, which is what confused me.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 i believe so, i think we were 20 over after the 8 game winning winning streak and that we have just pulled over .500 (16-15) for the first time since then
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 ="OlerudOwned"]Great album.OE...20+ for the first time this year. Gary was comenting last night on how elusive it's been. Ron said it's something you try to do before the AS Break.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Actually I think we are only 20 over now. The standings on 3 different sites say 58-38. The 59-38 record I'm only seeing in the box score in the Schaefer thread for yesterday's game.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Right, sorry...that's what I meant. Last night's win marked the first time to 20 over.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 ]Ron said it's something you try to do before the AS Break.Sure, Ron. We'll get right on that.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Despite losing yesterday, the magic number dropped by one because the Phillies lost to Atlanta. Both teams are now tied in the loss column and are playing each other again tonight. Since they both can't lose, the Mets will have to win tonight's game to further reduce the magic number. The magic number is 53.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I had that game on last night, I swear Joe Morgan is a riot, Miller was talking about Chipper who hit something like .500 for June, crazy stuff....Morgan said the reason is that he was not missing the ball..simple as that really.....and when Miller talked about Morgans sister who died last week Joe said the good news is that he has two more left......it just sounded so weird...
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 We are pretty much assured of being in first on August First. Last time that could be said...1990, under "The Buddy System" we were clinging to a 1 game lead over the Pirates
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Interestingly enough, 2000 marked our last September 1st date of being in first place, a half game in front of the Braves

What a day it was. Then the Mets took a swan dive into the shitter.
