Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted yesterday at 06:54 PM Posted yesterday at 06:54 PM We're pretty close to functional. Ads are running, videos are live, and we're building out the writing corps. In the coming months, we'll roll out the annual features, like the draft tracker and whatnot. I've said in the past that in the first year, my goal is mostly keeping the lights on. In year two, that's when we try to start making real gains. So, now that you're all more comfortable with the site, what things do you like? What don't you like? Any and all feedback is appreciated. BTW, my biggest open ticket is still restoring the old posts from previous installs of the forums. Our primary dev keeps getting pulled off it, but we'll get to it as soon as we can. MFS62 1
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 07:04 PM Posted yesterday at 07:04 PM Already said, ads are too intrusive and will eventually drive me away other than that I love it here. metirish 1
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM Can this go? It really breaks up the forums and at this stage do we need it? Yes the ads are annoying, but overall I'm happy, it's super easy to do things here , got some old members back and a few new members are posting ( is Radar new? ) more new members posting would be good whippoorwill and Johnny Lunchbucket 2
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted yesterday at 07:54 PM Author Posted yesterday at 07:54 PM Sure, I can hide that widget until we get some users blogging. whippoorwill, metirish and MFS62 3
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 07:59 PM Posted yesterday at 07:59 PM Btw thank you for the opportunity to vent! One thing I’ve also noticed today a couple of times is sometimes I’m typing a response and an ad tries to load and it wrecks the whole post. Done complaining now; just wanted to let you know about that :)
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted yesterday at 08:08 PM Author Posted yesterday at 08:08 PM What happens as you're typing? Does it take you out of the reply window or something? I'm unclear on what exactly is happening to ruin the post.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 08:49 PM Posted yesterday at 08:49 PM Yeah I know… I am too the one time it actually one at a time deleted my post from the very end 😳 it was kinda creepy and I decided maybe I wasn’t supposed to post whatever it was (it was in yesterday’s IGT I think) I take those signs seriously another one too I can see in todays IGT when I answered Ashie about the Pirates … just totally not what I typed and hey I’d it’s just me, there’s no need to worry:)
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 08:53 PM Posted yesterday at 08:53 PM Make it so we can search within individual threads.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 10:28 PM Posted yesterday at 10:28 PM My biggest problem with the site is that the team sucks now, and we *didn't* suck quite as bad before the move. Johnny Lunchbucket and MFS62 2
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 10:50 PM Posted yesterday at 10:50 PM No real problems but it is easier on my pc than on my phone. I love the daily minor league game reports. If I could add anything to them, I’d like you to add a column with the positions in the box scores. It would be interesting Say, if they’re playing an outfield prospect in the infield. later Brock Beauchamp 1
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I'm enjoying the site, I like how easy it is to post photos. It has a nice, clean look and is easy to navigate. Nice work, Brock! MFS62, Brock Beauchamp and Radar 3
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Ads: I know why they’re here. I wish there was a number you could give me that I could pay to make them go away when logged in. Assuming that’s pie-in-the-sky, however, can they at least be in sensible places? The ones that appear in the middle of the threads/topic listings? Ok, I get it. But the pop-up that comes up on mobile right above the address bar is awful and hinders us from using the site as intended. seawolf17 1
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Legit. This is my screen right now. (Sorry not sorry. I love me some JCPenney. But this is ridiculous.)
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I get some old bat with yellow teeth. Some relevant to the content of the forum would be nice. These aren’t even well thought out
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I'm happy with all of it. I don't care about the ads. It's the Internet and the site is free. It's what you get.

Expect to see it in the next week or so, I've just been really busy getting other stuff set up.

Took little getting accustomed to it as does most change. Pleased to have several former members return to the fold and join us commiserating about this miserable season. I have pretty much learned to ignore the adds. Any one know what happened to KC.? I wish here were active here. He seems to be the one longtime member that appears to have left.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Okay, here is here, but has essentially abandoned the baseball discussions. As miserable as this team is, I can't blame a person for taking a break.
