This led me to look at Wikipedia for the 1973 Mets. there is a page but didn’t have what I was looking for, a mention of my 1973 Mets crush, batboy Greg Cox. I did find an old thread from CPF that Steve started about baseball cards, in which Greg was mentioned a bunch of times….by my dear departed and sadly missed Zvon. id still like to find Greg though. It’s a pretty common name.

Talked to my son about this yesterday. He's been a Cleveland fan since he could read. He commented that Cleveland just hasn't got the pitching to go the distance in the long run. I was thinking, yeah nobody does.... Then I thought of 1986 when the Mets had so much pitching that SID FERNANDEZ was actually in the bullpen for the postseason. Subsequent interviews with Sid, he very diplomatic...oh it didn;t matter but I'm sure he was livid. I know I was. I adored Sid! Can you imagine though! That much pitching? Wow. And they were all 8 innings guys. I hope some of you see this before it's put in the archives, just because it's a good 1986 memory and I hope I give you all some happiness with it. Please Brock if you see this, leave i t for a day or two....

Kinda off topic but when my grandson was learning to talk he kept calling his one little friend at daycare ‘Tinkin’ I asked my daughter who he meant and after thinking about it she said it was probably Teagan. I told her I’ll bet Teagan’s mother would be thrilled that after weeks of thinking and going through baby names in her head, the other kids call him ‘Tinkin’ and she says… ‘That’s what she gets for picking such a stupid name’ still makes me laugh. aplogies to anyone here who has a kid named Teagan. Or any future posters
