Hello, Mets fans! This is new to you, so I'll give you the rundown. Twice a year, we sit down and find the most popular posts and blogs on Grand Central Mets, and their creators receive prizes for their contributions to this community. The 2026 season gave us plenty to talk about (mostly not great), but positives included Carson Benge’s breakout, three Gold Glove finalists, and our community was there for every pitch. Most Popular Post This season’s most popular post had nothing to do with baseball, and that’s exactly why it meant so much. Over in our This and That 2026 thread, @metirish shared that ten years ago that day, he quit inbibing, calling it one of the best decisions he ever made. He celebrated the milestone in style, trading in his MINI Cooper for a new Subaru Forester. The community showed up with plenty of love, and we’re happy to add to it. Congratulations on ten years, metirish! To mark the occasion, you’re taking home a 1986 Jesse Orosco bobblehead, frozen in his infamous World Series-winning pose. Most Popular Post Runner-Up Sometimes the most popular post is simply a welcome return. Before an August day game against the Padres, @kcmets popped back in to start the game thread, asking whether any schmoe could still start one of these the day after a loss. The answer was a resounding yes, and the thread filled with welcome-backs (and at least one question about whether kcmets had finally remembered his password). Congratulations, kcmets, you win... well, nothing. Sorry about that. Most Prolific Posters We like to tip our hat to the poster who earned the most reputation points over the season, and this time around we have a tie! Congratulations to @Edgy MD and @Frayed Knot, who were in every game thread with sharp observations all season long. Good to see our government is being productive. Or something.

Yeah, the search numbers are slowly climbing. SEO is painfully slow. But, ultimately, new members will start appearing. I promise that as much as I can promise anything that I can't directly control. For example, our Red Sox forum was just a smidge larger than this one. It was a pretty small, tight-knit group over there as well. We relaunched the site in August of 2024, and it took close to a year before new users started appearing. Just last month, I was approving new member posts multiple times a week over there. When I started, a search like "mets forum" would return this site somewhere in the 7-10 position. A site barely gets a click on the back half of page one. But now we're consistently hovering around #3 in those searches, and I'm quite confident we can get to #2, and somewhat confident we can get to #1. That's when we start seeing new users appear. Google search is *incredibly* top-loaded, and AI results have made it even more so. If you're not in the top two, maybe three, it's often pointless to be on the list at all.

According to Claude, so take this information with a grain of salt, the Twins have played 76 postseason games, 96 if you include the Senators. If the Twins haven't gotten all that close to 100 despite winning it all twice and making the WS three times, I'd imagine many other teams haven't, either. Off the top of my head: Brewers, Mariners, Angels, Diamondbacks, Padres, Pirates, CUBS. I bet the Cubs haven't done it. So I'm stopping there.

I'd imagine there are many teams that haven't played 100 postseason games. Teams like the Twins might be one of them, though they're probably close.

Are we talking about this?

I'm gonna have a boatload of time during the lockout, I will put more thought into whether I have the capacity to do something with this.
