How Day 2 Works The draft was trimmed to a two-day event for the 2026 cycle. Day 1 covered Rounds 1–4 on Friday; Day 2 runs Rounds 5 through 20 today. That's the bulk of the picks, and it's where front offices get creative — mixing high-upside prep gambles, senior-sign value plays, and money-saving college seniors to stretch the bonus pool as far as it will go. That's especially true for New York this year. Yeah, this is my take as well. If someone out there is willing to offer you good value for a reliever, you take that almost every time.

I was able to watch the end of yesterday's game. A really nice win against a very good team in a season where there haven't been many of those. On the other hand, I have watched quite a bit of the Royals this season, and they're a very bad baseball team. What's your over-under on the number of starts Freddy has left in a Mets uniform? I say 2.5. I think there's a lot of utility in moving a pitcher of his caliber early, and letting another team get a couple of extra starts from him.
