MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 The Mets announced that they will be unveiling a new road uniform this Saturday, 1/25.Later

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 I hope they are gray too. If not, I'd be fine with blue. I liked these from a few years ago.https://arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-advancelocal.s3.amazonaws.com/public/U4NS7V3NLNAFHCLSRNIK7TEALE.jpg>I'm hoping:1. No black. Especially not the black without the white outline.2. No script letters.3. No block letters.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Some guy on the internet is showing a "leak" as a blue top with New York in orange outlined script ala the Friday blacks.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Picking up on what Bucket posted , hopefully this is not it
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 I don't hate that as long as it is in addition to, and not replacing, the gray version.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 I might tolerate them wearing that for six-to-eight games per year, if they added six-to-eight more games to the schedule per year.Actually, I think it's kind of awful.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 So I assume this design was chosen based on how many fans liked the script New York design on the 1980s uniforms.Ask Keith and Ron about those. Both were particularly enamored with them.
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 That design is on the road batting practice caps, too!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 The neckline is the same as the Nationals pullover. Haven't seen the back but would guess the numbers utilize the same outline style as the new blacks
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 What color pants go with this? Grey would be the safe choice but don't put it past the Mets to go monochrome with blue pants.I'd like to see them try orange 🍊
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Looks like the above top got unveiled today at Mets Fest
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Wow, first since Stroman 1st year
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Baty said he grew up watching Reyes and Mauer, thus 7.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Very happy for Baty that he retains enough juice to make this move.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 New jersey isn't as ugly as the “City Connect.” But it has still quite bad.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Someone here tried to keep track of how many times each different Met jersey was worn last year. Here's a chart, and the link:[FIMG=666]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GbGLSkUXcAAtwtb?format=jpg&name=medium[/FIMG]https://x.com/daily_mets_/status/1852096960972324928https://x.com/daily_mets_/status/1852096960972324928
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2025 Posted January 26, 2025 I'm a traditionalist, I feel like they should be wearing white at home and gray on the road. I would have rather they brought back the '87 uniform style in white/pinstripes or even just the original grays with that font.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted January 26, 2025 Posted January 26, 2025 That's an ugly jersey. Hard to read, for one thing. And I thought that dumb script had been banished forever.

And I thought that dumb script had been banished forever. On the one hand, I sort of agree with you. On the other hand, I'm so over this stuff, so worn down and beaten down by the bomardment of uniform variations that are now a regular, constant part of the game, that I'm afraid to say this, but I barely give a shit any more. Used to be that I would go apeshit over stuff like this, but not anymore. I think that it's the City Connect unis that finally did this to me, that were the last nail in my uniform coffin, so to speak. Those City Connects are all hideous. Comically hideous. Tasteless. Garish. And stupid. And yet people love the Mets City Connects because --- get this ---- because they're (supposedly) not as ugly as some of the worst City Connect unis. That' the logic and justification for those hideousities. I give up. At this point, I don't think I'd give a shit if the Mets wore their Mercury Mets tops for an entire season.
