Outside of that, I got nothin'.

I got dozens and dozens of unreleased Batman cards. Last year, I predicted I wouldn't finish the set before the 2020 season starts, but who knows now? It's total havoc now.

Would be cool if the Tuesday Night Mets Club winds up with opening night tickets by mistake when they purchased the specifically because they were chap and held such little demand

I can't see them making up the lost games ... not two week's worth. That would require either LOTS of DH's which neither players nor owners want or essentially ZERO off days once they get going.

So we're almost certainly looking at a shortened season, the only question remains: how short?

And wives everywhere are preparing "honey-do" lists because the husbands can't say "not now, I'm watching a game". (as my wife just mentioned to me)

Maybe, but they made up everything in 2001. What was that? Ten days?

Which they did by extending that season for a week and pushing, for the first time, the post-season into November.

But these days that's the default schedule so will they go into the second/third week of November? I don't see that either.

If they want to reschedule the division games they can get rid of the interleague games. I'd be fine with that.

ESPN and Fox Sports are going to have show kids playing sports games on PlayStation soon.

I think they may already do that.

At least with all the holes in their schedule due to these college conference games canceled, ESPN might finally find some time to speculate as to where Tom Brady will wind up.

I could really care less about the suspension of March Madness or the NHL or the NBA. But, fuck, taking my baseball away, that's the worst. Will it even really be spring?

I gotta say there's a karmic comeuppance somewhere in the delay of a season that was starting obscenely early and leaden with a bunch of stupid new rules that nobody knows how are to work out and the sport smarting from who knows how much cheating scandals.

If I were an owner, I'd make Manfred walk the plank now just for the appearance of a clean slate but I'm sure they'll have him stick around long enough to complete the tasks of screwing over the minor leagues and the MLBPA.

This just made Cespedes about $5 million - now he should be ready to be on the major league roster when the season starts.

And it will give Conforto more time to heal, he won't feel anxious to rush back.

See, there's a bright side to everyth.... who am I fooling? This sucks.

Manfred's probably been an overall benefit to the owners though. I bet a bunch of them don't like baseball either. And a shortened season might be a boon for them too, as more teams probably stay competitive 'longer' plus pure counting stats look lower in negotiations, etc. We've already established basic attendance in the park is a small factor of their riches, and I doubt they're giving back cable money to broadcast the games unless it really gets super-shortened.

Two years ago when I was worrying about Trump's effect on American life, I remember thinking, "well, things can't be too bad because they are still playing baseball".

I know this isn't all his fault, but, fuck.
