  1. Reyes and Carlos Gonzalez from the Rockies? Flores, Niese, Nimmo, Montero enough? I don't know.

  3. It reads like a line from one of those old awful Jayson Stark stat dump columns: "It took the Mets 53 years to get their first three-home run game at home, by Kirk Nieuwenhuis on July 12. So of course the next one came just seventeen days later, by Lucas Duda."
  4. I'm angry, but I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be angry at. I'm directing it at Joel Sherman for now, because as far as I can tell, he started the whole thing.
  5. Helton probably, yes.

I have a list of needs, Z, if you pick up more and wind up with doubles (http://bit.ly/wVFOp3), and I have a handful of doubles I can send your way if you need them too. Trout's RCs are in 2011: Bowman Draft #101 and/or Topps Update #175. I'll start sorting. I can tell you that I got almost two of every card from the 2 boxes I opened. To put it the other way there were maybe 10 cards that I didn't get doubles of out of 160. I will be happy to trade&mail, but first I have to check with one of my brothers who said he might try and build the set. He wouldn't want to do it thru the mail tho, I don't think, and If he's not visiting again til X-mas he'll have to go to the back of the line. In any case, if all 3 of us work together it should be very doable. I'll work on a list. My brother's up for a 3 way. DOH! Get your mind out of the gutter. I'm going to get one more 19.99 box tomorrow and freeze there. My bro will be down next week. I'll put up lists before then. Do you want to do this here?(does the board mind if we do this here?) facebook? Just thru Email? I'm up for however. As of now the number 1 card on my want list is Brooks Robinson (83t). Hopefully that's in tomorrows haul. Looking at your lists. You're going to have an incredible collection (if you don't already). You don't have the Brooks as of that list. I know my brother got 2 in his box when he was down for the ASG. I hope I get it tomorrow cause then his will be available. I have a bunch of doubles you can use. We can do it here, through PMs if you'd like. My wantlist is current. If not '15 Archives, I'm SURE I can find other things you'll want around here.
  7. LaTroy Hawkins has been around so long that the lineups in his major league debut game included Kevin Maas, Kirby Puckett, and Andy Van Slyke. Reyes for a Tejada and a C-level prospect, we eat the money.
  8. Edgy MD wrote: Finnegan struck me as purty good. But they've used him only out of the pen. I've been playing OOTP16; in June 2015, I traded Daniel Murphy to the Royals for Finnegan straight up. Murphy played out the string in KC, then signed a two-year deal in LA, followed by a one-year deal in MIN. He went 8-for-41 as a Twin, got hurt, and retired. It's 2021; Finnegan has been an ace lefty out of my pen, even finishing third in the 2020 Cy Young race as a middle reliever. I just signed him to a three-year, $26M extension.
  9. Majors: Nathan (Detroit): Injured; TJ surgery, will miss the year. Could be the end of the road. Koehler (Miami): 7-5, 3.40. Still gets no respect despite having the second-best season of any Fish starter. (Jose Fernandez notwithstanding.) Minors: Tropeano (AAA Angels): 2-3, 4.67. Back from his rotator cuff injury. Jankowski (AA San Diego): .313/.394/.392. Currently with the USA National Team at the Pan Am Games, where he's tied for the lead in hits with nine. Cantwell (AA Texas): .207/.271/.307 in 150 AB. Throwing guys out, but not as well as in previous years. (FUN SIDE NOTE: Jankowski stole two bases on Cantwell in April.) Tissenbaum (A+ Tampa): .244/.337/.288 in 156 AB. Rakkar (A+ Chicago): 2.40 ERA, 10 saves. Currently with the Canadian National Team at the Pan Am Games; has thrown one inning. McNitt (A Houston): 1-3, 5.63 in 8 starts. Campbell (A LA Dodgers): Just started his season; closing games, more or less. Krause (A Pittsburgh): Still on the 7-day DL, but I can't figure out why. Ryley MacEachern (A- Miami): Just signed; will be in Batavia. Daniel Zamora (A- Pittsburgh): One inning, one run for West Virginia.

Trout's RCs are in 2011: Bowman Draft #101 and/or Topps Update #175. Do you collect every card? Every set? You must have a gigantic collection. You probaly need a whole 'nuther room just for your cards. I've gone in waves. When I was on Jeopardy, I mentioned that I was working on a complete collection of Mets autos; I've cut that back to just the guys who have the most importance to me. I mostly collect Mets, particularly my favorites (McReynolds and Hernandez) and the hometown guy (Harnisch), and anyone with a Stony Brook connection (except Joe Nathan, because there's just too much out there). I also love the Archives sets.
  11. d'Kong76 wrote: Yeah, I'm not sure who that guy is... Roger McDowell? That would kind of go with the Seinfelidan/Hernandez theme but other than that I'm drawing a blank. OE: I like some of that illustrators other stuff... http://www.workbook.com/portfolios/macpherson That's supposed to be the author, being shepherded down the street.

  16. And Tuffy Rhodes was never heard from again.

  20. It's images. Just images. With captions. (And short videos, but whatever.) You need the app to do it on your mobile device, but you do NOT need to join or download anything to look at the pics. instagram.com/wefollowlucasduda instagram.com/mets instagram.com/pizza
  21. Screw that. I love the Derby; always have. This was much more fast-paced than in previous years. Loved it.
  22. Edgy MD wrote: Sorry to mess up Botelho's name. I actually kind of remember him well (as well as could be expected). He was a sad sacrificial lamb an over-his-head call-up during a period where Chicago had pretty much their entire starting rotation (which had been a fantastic recycled veteran unit in 1984) on the disabled list. I think he gave up two homers to Gary Carter in his very next start. Meridith was an emergency fill-in also, I think. I think of everyone from that era in terms of baseball cards, which is why I didn't recognize either name. Meridith made it into the 1986 Donruss set, but despite 24 innings in 1983 with KC and 44 with the Cubs in '85, never made it to the big time cardboard.
  23. I was seriously like "who the hell are Dick Botelho and Ron Meredith?" -- turns out those are (almost) actual people. (It was Derek Botelho, now a pitching coach in the Miami system, apparently.) I remember six of the last seven; don't remember Ike's at all.
