Kanzler is not only the second-youngest manager in MLB (behind the guy in Washington), but apparently is also local to us here in Rochester. Neat.

Kyren Paris, utility guy who was a former top prospect, claimed from the Angels. Pache DFAed. I don't get the point of this move, but whatever, I guess.

Good news is that we can't possibly be much worse at those three spots. We were 25th in 1B WAR, 27th in 2B WAR, and 30th in DH WAR.

Hey, if you told me in March that Freddy would be starting Game 3 of the World Series, well, I'd be all over that. -
One of the myriad of reasons why I am stunned that anyone would consider dealing him. Francisco is a no-doubt HOFer (the only shortstop who started his career after 1900 with better overall stats right now is Alex Rodriguez) and he will retire as a Mets legend.

Milwaukee here too. It just feels like the more heartwarming story. But I'm good either way. I just want seven games.

Agree that Rojas is an obvious 40-man guy. So are Gill Hill (or is he just Hill?) and Wenninger. Reimer feels likely, and so does Suero. I think a team might be willing to take a shot on Suero because of his solid OBP numbers. Clifford and Parada are the big question marks. I could see Clifford being protected, just in case we don't find a true 1B and they want to see what happens in PSL.

No way Robert Stock or Justin Hagenman survive on the 40 either. So there will be spots.

The Stearns question is actually a very valid one. Were the guts of this team acquired under Stearns? Maybe we *should* just let him cook.

If this was a quiz, I would have been able to name less than half of the current MLB managers. Wow. I can probably still name everyone who appeared on a Topps manager card from the 1980s, though.
