  2. Career vs Bumgarner: Duda: 0-1 Campbell: 1-5, 3 K Loney: 2-13, 5 K (but zero AB since 2013) Meh. Gotta go Duda.
  3. If I had to guess... it'd be something like this: SP: Colon, Thor, Lugo, Gsellman RHP: Salas, Verrett, Reed, Henderson, Robles, Familia LHP: Blevins, Smoker lineup: Reyes/Cabrera/TJRivera/Duda, Bruce/Cespedes/Granderson, d'Arnaud bench: Johnson, De Aza, Loney, Conforto, RRivera That cuts Edgin/Goeddel in the pen, and Campbell/Nimmo/Reynolds.
  4. There was at least one other Met, and I'm trying to remember without looking it up. Mark Carreon, maybe?
  5. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I think the current definition of Triple Happiness is indeed wins by the Mets and losses by the Cardinals and Giants. There's nothing more important than that that needs to happen for the Mets this week. Gotta be, yes. Everyone else is irrelevant right now.
  6. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Yeah, he is kinda superfluous, since that lineup has two catchers. Well, you've gotta have a lot of catchers, or you're gonna have a lot of passed balls.
  7. It's because Terry has Campbell on his fantasy team.

I don't know if they'll win, but I think they'll be, per Keith, on point. Not for nothing, a good chunk of that last night was TC's fault when he let Bartolo bat even though he was throwing batting practice out there. Yup. Another instance of the booth being able to see things long before Terry. Literally EVERYONE saw that before Terry. Donald Trump on the debate was like "Bartolo Colon hit for himself? Sad!"
  9. A friend -- who is an avid boater -- said "not to belittle the tragedy, but if you're out on a boat at that hour of the night, you'd better really know what you're doing and not be speeding."
  10. And can he bend it?

  12. Sympathy time is over, kids. Let's just win these rest of these fuckers and not have to worry about anything else.
  13. This would be a very different game if Terry had gotten Colon out of there on time.
  14. Psst! Edge! You're in the wrong thread.
  15. G-Fafif wrote: Benjamin Grimm wrote: I've been wondering about that FERNANDEZ 16 jersey that was hanging in the Mets dugout. I read that they're bringing it with them to Miami. I think they should leave it there, donate it to the Marlins museum, if they have one, or just to the organization in general if they don't have a museum yet. If they don't do that, sooner or later we may find out that they're selling it at auction, which would, of course, be crass and tasteless. Which is why I'm afraid they might do it. Jeff's idea, allegedly. Which was his idea -- making the jersey, or selling it? (Or both?)
  16. TK and Fernandez were apparently close: This is going to be very hard for everyone tonight.
  17. Piece of CPF history, too... Fernandez's ML Debut was at Citi Field, and was a CPF meet up game. Me, Irish, Marathon, Lunchy, and a few others with all our assorted progeny.
  18. Zvon wrote: Nice. Mets history. Nothing for the walkoff. Yet. Yep, they made one for the walkoff. http://www.topps.com/collectibles/trading-cards/topps-now-featured/blonde-bombers-help-walk-off-philadelphia-philliesr-jose-reyes-asdrubal-cabrera-topps-now.html
  19. Oy. [bigpurple:nlk8xarv]FOR FUCKS SAKE METS[/bigpurple:nlk8xarv]
  20. Regardless - I'm all in on the rejuvenated Jose Reyes. He's a rip to follow on Instagram, by the way. I would LOVE to see him spend some time in the offseason working on domestic violence issues.
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Yes. His Marlins contract runs through 2017, and the Rockies are still on the hook for paying most of his 2017 salary. The Mets will have Jose for the major-league minimum. No, I don't think that's how it works. He'd be a FA at the end of the year. The Rox/Fish/Jays/whoever still have to pay the $, but the years don't matter any more.
  22. Mets Willets Point wrote: It's just a player. I know we're supposed to have polarized positions on the guy, but it's just a player. I think I would agree with this if I hadn't gotten an email from the Mets proclaiming "WE SIGNED TIM TEBOW!!!" Why am I supposed to be more excited about this 29-year-old who failed multiple times at getting a position in his best sport and hasn't played organized baseball since he was in high school, as compared to anyone else signed to a minor league deal to fill a roster spot with same qualifications? It doesn't even have the publicity stunt appeal of Michael Jordan or Garth Brooks where you can say "Hey, this guy is really talented in his field, let's see how he does at baseball." The only thing that makes Tebow famous is that he's become an icon to the type of Christian right people who believe that Christianity is being persecuted in the United States. I don't have anything against Tebow as an individual, but it strikes me as odd that the Mets want to tap into that rigmarole. For one reason, and one reason only. https://twitter.com/CStewartWPTV/status/777862963977973760/photo/1

  24. Third-best-selling jersey on the site, sez the internets, behind Thor and Custom.
  25. Zvon wrote: If these ToppsNOW cards are really limited run they should be stamped with the number, like for TJ they'd have a 5/613 on the card. I mean, we pay 10 bucks for a single card. Go that extra step. Agree. I don't know what will make me jump in and finally buy one of these, because ten bucks continues to be just too steep for me.
