  1. "Off Day" is hilarious. Related: http://itsouttahe.re/
  2. Two Seawolves this year: a 33rd round pick by the Astros and our first MFY in the 37th.
  3. Draft update! Majors: Koehler (Miami): 4-6, 4.36 in 12 starts. BUT... 2.12 ERA in three starts against Washington. So there's that. Tropeano (Angels): 3-2, 3.25 in 10 starts. Was going gangbusters, but is now on the DL with shoulder issues. Jankowski (San Diego): .234/.345/.340 in just 55 PA. Wish he'd get more playing time. Minors: Cantwell (AAA Texas): .294/.330/.314 in 102 AB. Zamora (A Pittsburgh): 3-1, 2.37 ERA in 30 1/3 bullpen innings. Krause (A Pittsburgh): Ready to return: http://www.silive.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/06/kevin_krauses_baseball_comebac.html MacEachern (A- Miami): Season starts June 22. Toby Handley (drafted by Houston) Tyler Honahan (drafted by MFYs) And: Tissenbaum: Went .219/.286/.313 in 32 AB, got hurt, got released. Playing in Canada now.

I saw him blow a save in Akron this season and, based on that small sample size, it looks like he's coming by the bad numbers honestly. So I'm thinking of this as only slightly higher risk than the Loney pickup - a little bit of upside and pretty near zero downside. Akeel Morris: /wins 2018 NL RoY Award I'm kidding. Godspeed, Akeel. He's one of the few players where I can say I watched the entirety of his Mets career.
  5. Edgy MD wrote: Just yesterday I discovered and fell madly in love with this card. I have no memory of this player, but God bless him, he looks like a guy from semi-amateur theater playing a baseball player. Even his name seems contrived. Crikey. I have vivid memories of that set, but I was 100% sure that card was fake. Interesting.
  6. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Can they get Juan Uribe too? And then we trade Yo somewhere, and then have them trade him BACK to us.
  7. Centerfield wrote: I get that we have no idea what we would have gotten out of Dilson this week had he been called up, but do you know who he absolutely, positively would have been better than? David Wright. So fucking stupid. And now you call up Reynolds? What the fuck Sandy. Why? Was Eric Campbell not available? I know. Let's call John Mayberry and teach him to play third base. Let's do everything except call up our best hitting prospect who has already proven himself at AAA. It's not like we're trying to win games or anything. I agree, BUT. Dilson doesn't fill a hole. Neil Walker is one of only two guys who hits on this team. You want to mess him up learning a new position now? It's not like we're trying to win games or anything.
  8. This is a really good question. The obvious answer is "of course he will - he only needs ten." But I honestly don't know. And when you look at that dropoff, yikes. I'm voting yes, though. Either way, I'm reminded of Don Mattingly.
  9. If I'm a professional athlete, I don't even go out to dinner any more because I'm too afraid of what might wind up in my body. Sorry, Marlon.
  10. Centerfield wrote: Fuck. That walk is going to end up scoring isn't it. It always does.
  11. Lefty Specialist wrote: Boy, .391 seems like such a long time ago, Ty. Well, Dilson Herrera could have done THAT.
  12. Frayed Knot wrote: Damn, a walk ... that kills the inning!! I could go for a rally-killing home run right here.
  13. BOOM. http://m.padres.mlb.com/video/v759618983?content_id=759618983&topic_id=8879004
  14. Also moving: Jorge Castillo No relation to Xorge Carrillo.
  15. Edgy MD wrote: So, if you want to see that narrative, you have to make the uncomfortable choice, either Wright is an overbearing hardass, or Harvey is a self-centered and disruptive diva. You don't have to see that narrative. You can believe too much is being made of nothing, and we're drawing inferences from an exchange on video that aren't necessarily there. But if you do see something, that's where you're at. Agree. So Wright and Harvey aren't friends. Who gives a frig? They just have to work together.
  16. I feel like every time we face a rookie starter, he throws seven shutout innings and strikes out twelve. I have a bad feeling about tonight.
  17. Rube Walker nothing. He's Jesse O.
  18. Pitched once or twice (maybe?). Probably wore a uniform with blue and orange somewhere in the color scheme. Came in out of the pen, most likely. Other than that, I got nothing.
  19. Zvon wrote: I think he should re-think that mid body weight thing. That's something he can do when he get's older. It'll happen naturally. He should get back in 2013 shape, 2013 weight. In Binghamton.
  20. Well, shit.
  21. Crikey, Harv. Two hits to start the fifth and batters are 27-for-52 the third time through the order this season. That's beyond dreadful.
  22. Lefty Specialist wrote: Hell, I'm sold on Loney. Good fielder, no long-term commitment. Won't hit much, but the added bonus of reduced Sugarpantalones errors seals the deal for me. See, we all put our heads together and we come up with something. Oh, except now Sandy has to do what we say. Which I did when I signed Cesp---SHIT. COVER BLOWN. /deletes account
