If I'm the Red Sox and Rays, I groove fastballs to him every chance I get and make the Yankees celebrate #700.

I almost actually feel bad for ARod here. There's no way the Yankees let him pass Babe Ruth on their dime.

Great job! You should, like, work for the governor or something.

6-0 in September with six shutouts, wins NL Cy Young Award.

Majors: Koehler (Miami): 8-8, 4.18 in 21 starts. Tropeano (Angels): 3-2, 3.56 in 13 starts. Now out with an elbow injury; his season is over and it seems like TJS for him, which means we won't see him until 2018. Jankowski (San Diego): .236/.356/.311 in 193 PA. Nathan (Cubs): Two innings, two hits, two walks, four Ks. Minors: Cantwell (AAA Texas): .262/.327/.306 in 202 PA. Zamora (A Pittsburgh): 3-2, 3.46 in 39 innings. 45 Ks. MacEachern (A Miami): 1-1, 2.74 in 23 innings across two levels. Krause (A- Pittsburgh): .287/.398/.402 in 104 PA. Honahan (R MFYs): 2-0, 3.52 in 15 innings. 18 Ks.

Took his sweet-ass time. Gave up hits like it was his job. At some point in during the 2019 season his name will come up and I will not remember him ever being a Met.

Centerfield wrote: So let me get this straight, the Mets lost their starting first baseman, their starting third baseman, and their starting shortstop. They've also lost the guy signed to fill in at 3B and SS while the first stringers are on the shelf. We lost our only true centerfielder, and we have so many corner outfielders, we talked about moving some of them to CF and 1B. We are down a starting pitcher, and could use bullpen help. All season long the offense has been plagued by all-or-nothing guys who strike out too much. And so, the solution here is to take our top hitting prospect and trade for Jay Bruce?

Twitter seems to be reporting a Niese return.

Shit. That post was why they traded Dilson. Sorry, team.

When we called up Jack Egbert a few seasons ago (2013? 14?) I was 100% confident he was the guy I remembered from my 1989 Donruss set who never actually pitched for the Mets and was fascinated that he was still pitching 25 years later.

One's definitely a Phillie and one's definitely an MFY. But turn-of-the-millennium-outfielder-first-base-pinch-hitter-Royal-Mariner-types Mike Sweeney and Mark Sweeney? Might as well be the same dude.

Cashner career vs Mets: 0-3, 6.18 ERA in 27 innings. I LIKE THIS TRADE!

More Padre ABs for Travis Jankowski. I approve of this trade.
