  1. negative equity...? the primary source of his negative equity was his signing in the wake of hampton's departure, and a briefly terribly start to his metly career that brought to life the notion of a norfolk magic cure. since that start, he's at least brought himself to even during his tenure. he may not have positive equity, is all i'm saying, but its not like he should have negative equity...
  2. well, i just have this feeling that the guy most likely to beat a flame-throwing closer is the biggest scrubbeenie in the opposing clubhouse. fire fastballs at the weaklings, cos they're not expected to get the bat on the ball. only when they do connect with a fireball, it'll usually go very very far.
  3. BURBANK, Calif. (AP) -- A private jet, carrying Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and six others, overran a runway at Bob Hope Airport on Friday and was brought to a halt by an arresting system.
  4. its not, but i'd expect some bud select ad to mock up such a thing.
  5. gah! last time i ever mention anything. i don't get why a man would elect to do something to their body that would resultantly require him to 'wee' sitting down, thereby obliterating the primary male perk of not having to make physical contact with the seat of a portapotty for most potty needs. yeah, we've jumped the tracks and are hurtling rapidly downhill towards a fireworks factory. or something else bad that frequenlty happens to wile e. coyote.
  6. see, i usually assume i'm way far behind the times, so that if i pick up on something that has a dirty meaning, i assume there are nuns in cambodian missions that heard about it ten years ago. i guess i was wrong on this one. i haven't a clue as to where i picked up this particular meaning either. its certainly not somehting i'd've chosen to research on my own. i'm now curious, but not terribly willing to find out, why prince albert has come to describe such a thing. and i'm sorry for dragging us all down into my gutter.
  7. true. i just found it an odd thing to hear. it'd be as if he were to call duaner "dirty"
  8. i'm gonna treat this as a generic "discuss MLB television content" thread for a sec... the other day i was listening to tim mccarver and joe buck do the cards / pads game, and they were talking about albert pujols for a bit. and tim, in his infinite wisdom, refered to him as "prince albert" now, two things that struck me... one, i've never heard of pujols be referred to as "prince" and had thought that his consensus nickname was "fat" or "phat" - however the intended spelling is. and two. "prince albert" really? if timmy's just coining that on his own, does he not know what painful sounding (i wouldnt know), and only slightly inappropriate for broadcast tv, a thing it is? or was somebody funning poor timmy without his knowledge, and he repeated the joke that was on him? or did he just hear "prince albert" somewhere once, had forgotten the meaning and never looked it up on urban dictionary, and decided to pull it out of his bag of tricks for the national broadcast?

  11. how often does the 25th man get used in postseason play anyways? i mean, itd suck if we needed him but cliff couldnt play, but i'm not entirely sure that it'll impact us too much. i hope..
  12. funny, i find that when i start screaming a the radio, i tend to either turn the station or continue listening to see if somebody is stupid enough to try and change an ill-formed yet stubbornly held opinion. the dumber the radio host is acting, teh less likely there is a chance of meaningful dialogue. and without meaningful dialogue, why listen, really? i guess i'm different. i listen to the radio - yes even sports talk radio - to learn. maybe its to learn what people think, or whats going on in the sports world. i don't pften find myself yelling at the radio when i listen to 1050. i may disagree with them often, but rarely do i find the need to yell. i figure i'd have a chance, if i actually bothered enough, to call in and actually talk with those hosts, maybe even disagree and be given the time of day to be able to voice my differing opinion. i wouldn't begin to delude myself into thinking that i could get a word in edgewise on m&md. and therefore i hardly listen to them. that they would be viewed as a model of what sports talk radio hosts should be like is akin to me of viewing TO as a model of what athletes should be like.
  13. short term gain. works for me.
  14. lastings milledge grew up? oliver perez looked between the seats of his couch and finally found that damned white castle wrapper with the secret to his success from 2004 written upon it? the wilpons finally got around to having all of the upper deck urinals in shea to drain directly into the visitors' dugout? the champagne's not korbell?
  15. if you're gonna make off color, offensive, disrespectful, and inappropriate jokes, at least make them funny.

  17. a player on the team, cancel the game. a player from the same city, big star or no, play the game.

  19. what, we're just talking about concordia university's star outfielder...
  20. oh well. don't think i've ever heard of her.
  21. the only way i could walk-on, barely able to run a full mile and 6 months after collapsing a lung, to a cross country team in my 3rd year and become captain of the track team by my 5th year was to go to a small division three engineering college, surrounded by sidewalks on three sides and a river on the other, in hudson county, new jersey. i had it all planned out! is the connecticut rep a young guy? if so, i wonder if i might know him...
  22. and google news still doesnt link to anything plane crash related upon a query of "lidle" i just find that interesting. i wonder how long it takes for that to register...
  23. well, it was still funny... m&md are having a pretty tough time with ripping on people lately. they bust on pedro, and turns out he's all kinds of broken. they bust on lidle, and he gets his plane flown into an apartment building, tho hopefully he wasn't flying it. is it wrong to say "hopefully he wasn't flying it"? i mean, two people are dead no matter what. should i be wishing death on a stranger, as if they are less worthy of life than a celebrity? begin the philosophical debate. i've gotta go chop some wood. no, really.
  24. and holy shit. and, damn, willets, that was wrong.
