  1. Out of the next 13 games, only the three games against the Angels (27-23) are against teams with less than a .600 win percentage. How many will they win? How many is enough?

  3. 24 hours from now we'll be at Truist Park taking in Marlins-Braves. We usually buy souvenirs from all the stadiums we visit, but we're not allowed to wear the gear of any opposing NL team. Especially not in the NL East, and especially not the Braves. ShortCenter asks me today. “What about a Hank Aaron shirsey?” What say you CPF?
  4. I've taken some time to think through my thoughts because I had a hard time resolving the conflicting feelings I was having on this. I think I'm comfortable with my feelings on this now. I don't like that Tim Anderson compared himself to Jackie Robinson. In a way, I think this is somewhat tone deaf. Anderson, nor anyone living today, can truly appreciate what Jackie went through. And when he makes that comparison, I think he minimizes the abuse Jackie suffered, and the measures society has taken to address it. We are far from perfect now, but if you discount all of that progress and compare Tim Anderson's situation to Jackie Robinson, you undermine the motivation to get better. That being said, Donaldson is wrong. Tim Anderson is allowed to compare himself to Jackie Robinson, the man, not Jackie Robinson the player. When Tim says "I feel like the modern day Jackie Robinson", he's saying I feel the impact of modern day racism, and it's a burden he has to shoulder every day. Donaldson, a white man, mocking that statement is minimizing or making light of that struggle. His message is "Everything is fine, don't be a whiny bitch about perceived racism. No one's burning crosses anymore". And this is unequivocally wrong. And everyone chanting "Jackie" at Yankee Stadium is a piece of shit.

  6. Love it. Megill may be legit. Diaz was filthy. Special night. Every ten years we throw a no hitter on Friday night.
  7. Can't remember the last time I felt this good about the Mets.

  9. Two called strike threes. Are you fucking kidding me.
  10. Yall people are crazy. Pay the man a billion dollars and watch him win Cy Youngs into his 40s.
  11. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Magoo throws 99. Who knew? Did this really happen? Was he overall near this or just a one time anomaly?
  12. I feel like it's been 5 years since I watched the Mets win. This is nice.
  13. It's shocking to me that MLB is doing everything they can to attract a larger audience, and "let's stop blackouts" isn't anywhere on that list.
  14. =Fman99 post_id=87283 time=1647568141 user_id=86] I can tell you one thing, that ballpark in Pittsburgh is beautiful, Fboy and I (and Seawolf & family) can all attest from our combined visit there in 2019.
  15. We need another bat. In a perfect world, he'd be righty, but I would be happy to welcome back Conforto. I think he'll bounce back.
  16. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=86832 time=1647025420 user_id=68] No more tiebreaking games. No more 163d games. Tiebreakers for playoff spots and seeds will now be determined by mathematical formulas.

  18. Ok. Truth be told. That's a really nice photo of Almora. And it relates to the Mets 2021 season about as much as our Christmas card.
  19. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'm with Greg on this one. I like how LFGM represents the overall tone of the season. It got my vote. Yup.
  20. Awful.
