  2. Ben, can you be more specific? I just arrived here in Bangalore and realized I don't have the address. I tried knocking on a few doors asking for my rice. No one seems to know what I'm talking about.
  3. I think there is a disproportionate number of coronations taking place in Long Island.
  4. TCD section.
  5. The girl on the right. Where is her other hand? Is there a string or something on the back?
  6. Doc and Darryl are #3 and #5 in career Mets WAR. https://www.metshotcorner.com/2016/mets-all-time-top-10-by-war/https://www.metshotcorner.com/2016/mets-all-time-top-10-by-war/ Keith and Piazza, both who have numbers retired, are 12 and 13.
  7. If the sentiment is that Keith deserves his number retired, why don't Doc and Darryl deserve similar? They had longer, and better Mets careers.
  8. There was that long dry spell before one of his milestone HRs. Maybe 300? I think it was like 8 years between 299 and 300. At least that's what it felt like.
  9. He had one great year, one good year, then spent the next 2.5 years hitting like Juan Lagares. Michael Conforto is more deserving than Gary Carter.
  10. Benjamin Grimm wrote: If we're looking for a cover that's emblematic of the season, LFGM is probably as good as it gets. This is the cover that I'm going to ride with the rest of the way. Me too. 2021 in a nutshell.
  11. 2021 is yet more proof that a shit year can still yield a fun TCD.
  12. What's a Manningcast?
  13. I see something like this, and I wonder how much trouble I avoided because at some point in the night, I look at my watch and say "alright guys, it's been fun, but i better get home before my wife kicks the shit outta me".
  14. Phew. So glad to see deGrom's MRI came back clean. Hopefully he won't miss any time.
  15. 1.416 WHIP last year. He's always had lots of baserunners, even during most of his good years. Back then he had just enough control, coupled with his nasty stuff, to strand most of them. Plus he didn't give up HRs. These past few years he hasn't been as lucky (or just had less control in general). And he's also giving up HRs, which suggests his stuff is fading. I like him a lot. I think he's been shafted by public opinion for a number of reasons, but I feel like he's on the verge of going kinda bad. But sure. Minor league deal. Why not.
  16. Luis Castillo (or equivalent). Or else we keep him.
  17. So glad the TCD is back on. I thought it was suspended due to the lockout.
  18. Michael Smoltz is in the middle. This picture may be a bit outdated so Michael probably looks older now. https://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/e3b2f9e77373ac33896014a78e7f006089f12884/c=0-139-943-672/local/-/media/2015/07/17/MIGroup/Lansing/635727525353839285-Smoltz-children.jpg?width=660&height=374&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp>
  19. Never thought about this before but it's kinda funny that the Mets had both Mike Maddux and Mike Glavine. Does Smoltz have a brother named Mike? I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before he plays for the Mets.
  20. A Boy Named Seo wrote: That's why it's called silly szn, bruh. I love it all. Baseball rumors, soccer rumors. It's mostly dart-throwing, wild-ass guessing (and click-driving) but it entertains me immensely. Yup.
  21. cal sharpie wrote: Buck Showalter Cal with the win. What's his prize?
  22. Someone on twitter described him as the "manageriest manager in baseball". Like if you had to cast a baseball manager for a movie, Buck would be your guy. I'm not sure I agree with that, but I can't think of anyone active that fits that role. Casey was before my time, but if I had to pick, I think my choices would be: Jim Leyland, Runner Up http://media.mlive.com/benchwarmer/photo/8373042-large.jpg> You can smell the cigarettes on his breath even through this picture. Bobby Cox, Winner, Manageriest Manager of All Time https://www.yourcentralvalley.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/54/2020/06/Bobby-Cox.jpg?w=475&h=594&crop=1> Foul-mouthed, impatient. Light beer? Are you fucking kidding me?
  23. Burl Ives looks great! Looks like he's dropped some weight even.
  24. I'm just now realizing that Mr. Met doesn't have ears.
  25. Edgy MD wrote: Puig is also coming off a string of stateside sexual assault accusations, at least two of which were buried until quite recently. Yikes. Well then that explains the lack of interest.
