  1. Brandon was named International League pitcher of the month for July. His numbers: 🔸 5 starts 🔸 27 IP 🔸 0.67 ERA 🔸 0.81 WHIP 🔸 33 K 🔸 14 H Later
  2. Gavin Williams threw 126 pitched and looked pretty darn effective that third time through the order. (Disclaimer - he was doing it against the Mets) Later
  3. He was the winning pitcher (2-0) today. He pitched one hitless inning and struck out the side. Looks like the injury that had him on the IL has healed (knocking wood). Welcome back, kid. Later
  4. Can you imagine what would have happened if a manager had yanked Bob Gibson or Randy Johnson after six innings? They would be changing the manager (for medical reasons), not the pitcher. Some of those pitchers should grow a pair and tell the manager, "Let me show you I can". Later
  5. Great talent. Hurt far too often. He seems to spend 35-40% of each season on the IL. Giancarlo Stanton-ish? Later
  6. Buena Suerte, Rico. Later
  7. Jonah had another good outing today(no decision): 5.0IP 3H 0R 0ER 2BB 8K his ERA dropped to 1.58 Later
  8. He's back at Binghamton after his rehab from the IL. Later
  9. Whatever they pick it should end in an s, not a singular name like the Syracuse Salt. More traditional. Later
  10. It may be by number of innings pitched, They didn't elaborate. Later
  11. I heard that Jacob DeGrom is the fastest pitcher to 1,800 Ks in MLB history. Later
  12. I just looked up what Syracuse is known for, and the best name for a baseball team I can think of is the Salt Miners. https://heyexplorer.com/what-is-syracuse-known-and-famous-for/ Later
  13. The Mets have called up P Dom Hammel and sent down Austin Warren. Hammel has been a starting pitcher, but in recent outings he has started, but only pitched a few innings. It looks like they are grooming him to work out of the bullpen. Welcome, Dom. Later
  14. Unless your masochism tolerance is very high, that sounds like the right choice. Later
  15. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets are designating relief pitcher Rico Garcia for assignment. No corresponding move has been announced. Later
  16. I hope you get to see the game. You certainly earned it. Later
  17. Just read that Carson has had at least one hit in every game since July 10. Later
  18. That's one. Later
  19. Brandon pitched well again: 5.0IP 3H 0R 0ER 3BB 9K His ERA is now 4.07 and his record is 6-5. Later
  20. It will be an upgrade defensively at two positions. Mullins is a proven centerfielder and McNeil isn't, and McNeil is better than Baty at second. Baseball lore says that in order to win you have to be strong up the middle, and IMO this makes them a better defensive team and maybe a little better offensively. Later
  21. Ditto Later
  22. I've changed my mind. Pre season, I looked at the roster and thought they'd lose a lot of 5-4 games. Now, I look at the roster and think they'll lose a lot of 4-3 games. Later
  23. Unless there is a completed deal yet to be announced, Vientos, Mauricio, Acuna and Baty are still on the team. I'm not sure whether that is a good thing or bad thing. Later
  24. I'm guessing that's not because the Mets scared them in that last series. Later
  25. Yes, we do Kwan isn't a centerfielder. If they get him, which corner outfielder would he replace? Good player, no Mets fit. Later
