The Mets are sending infield prospect Jesus Baez and two pitching prospects, Nate Dohm and Frank Elissalt, to St. Louis to complete the deal. All three played A level ball this year, splitting time between Brooklyn and St Lucie. Baez has been in the organization for about three years and the two pitchers were drafted in 2024. Baez has been a sub .250 hitter for most of his minor league career, while the two pitchers have decent K/IP totals. Later

The classic Doyle Alexander (short term help) for John Smoltz (long term help) deal. Butto seems to not have regained his old form, Gilbert hasn't progressed as well as they hoped and has been surpassed as a cf prospect by Benge(and Williams), and I had Tidwell going as part of a trade for Roberts in another thread. So, give them a hug, but don't mourn. Just root for Tyler Rogers. Later

I agree. I'm not sure his current level of performance warrants a high price. I'm sure his mother and the White Sox GM believe he's worth it. Later

Generally, an acquiring team these days will insist on manufacturer certified pre-owned (CPO) that has been rigorously inspected and reconditioned and meets specific criteria allowing extended selling- team-backed warranty and other benefits.
