I was really disappointed at the case of Calvin Ziegler.
He had a stretch of something like six games in which he started games and gave up one or fewer hits (limited innings). But he got injured and has spent the last few years on the injure list. You can't predict injuries. It was not a fault of the development process.

After the first few years, I hoped Baty would develop into a useful platoon piece like Jerry Lumpe (who platooned with Andy Carey at 3B for the MFYs). But it looks like he won’t even be that good.

He hasn't driven in many players other than himself all year. He has 17 homers and 38 RBI. Not quite a Brook Jacoby ratio*, but close.

*= 32 homers, 69 RBI in 1987
Management and coaches can spot it immediately if he's not going with the coach's program. But I guess they might let him do it if he's getting good results.

I think that included in that mix of possible third basemen to replace Bo was prospect Jacob Reimer(a truer third baseman than Williams). But he seems to have hit a wall this year.

Can't think of one. When I disliked a player it was for one of two main reasons:
1- they did well against the Mets (but not all of them. Some I respected as good ballplayers. It was the ones who did their best against the Mets and weren't as good against other teams. )
2- they didn't perform up to my expectations when they became a Met.
