  1. I remember him pitching well when he got a chance. He might have been an effective piece in the bullpen. Later
  2. If that's the city of brotherly love, I don't want to be the brother of anyone in Philadelphia. Later
  3. I was really disappointed at the case of Calvin Ziegler. He had a stretch of something like six games in which he started games and gave up one or fewer hits (limited innings). But he got injured and has spent the last few years on the injure list. You can't predict injuries. It was not a fault of the development process. Later
  4. If past Senga starts mean anything, this could get ugly early. The expected heavy rain could be a blessing. Later
  5. After the first few years, I hoped Baty would develop into a useful platoon piece like Jerry Lumpe (who platooned with Andy Carey at 3B for the MFYs). But it looks like he won’t even be that good. later
  6. Getting Lindor back at short and moving Bichette back to third will help both the offense and the defense. Later

  8. He hasn't driven in many players other than himself all year. He has 17 homers and 38 RBI. Not quite a Brook Jacoby ratio*, but close. Later *= 32 homers, 69 RBI in 1987
  9. Exactly. If he gets his shit together, why let him go? Later
  10. Management and coaches can spot it immediately if he's not going with the coach's program. But I guess they might let him do it if he's getting good results. Later
  11. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show? Later
  12. Hold the ball. Run out the clock. Oh, wait! Wrong sport. Never mind. OOPS _ Brock and I had the same idea at the same time. Later
  13. He's also driving them in. He got off to a very cold start. But he has heated up and now has 16 HR and 48 RBI. Later
  14. I think it means lack of free motion. E.G. -something (A ligament?) is catching on something (A bone spur?). Later
  15. They miss Pete. Alonso. later
  16. That bullpen usage chart may become very useful with Senga starting. Later
  17. I almost had a Harry Chiti flashback. Two transactions with the same team involving the same player. Later
  18. I think that included in that mix of possible third basemen to replace Bo was prospect Jacob Reimer(a truer third baseman than Williams). But he seems to have hit a wall this year. Later
  19. Can't think of one. When I disliked a player it was for one of two main reasons: 1- they did well against the Mets (but not all of them. Some I respected as good ballplayers. It was the ones who did their best against the Mets and weren't as good against other teams. ) 2- they didn't perform up to my expectations when they became a Met. Later
