  1. For those who count such things, that was the first time in 131 games that the Mets have trailed by 3 (or more) runs in the ninth inning and won the game. I like FK's headline. Later
  2. Manaea has been pitching like he wants to stay here. Later
  3. Don't try to dazzle us with logic and good ideas. They're bringing up Joey Gerber. Later
  4. This balagan ballclub needs to get going. Later
  5. The guys in the booth quote it. But have you seen it? Two guys (Bill Murray and Harold Ramis) join the Army, go through basic training and meet some memorable characters (including John Candy and John Lacourette.). Later
  6. I’ve seen those movies, but I still quote stripes. It brings back memories of Army basic training. And that’s a fact, jack. later
  7. I'll look at this year like I did in 1983 when Strawberry came up. The team finished with a terrible record (they were 5th or 6th) but the excitement he generated gave hope for the future and a reason to watch games. I'm getting the same vibe from Benge and Ewing. Later
  8. A different IGT writer after a win is upsetting the balance of my Universe. Later
  9. Keep your back to the wall, but listen for drilling. Saw this headline about the game: Mets Route Tigers Again, 9-4 Somebody needs a good editor. Later
  10. Its performances like that for Tong which led me to rate him lower than 3rd in the organization. The results don't match the stuff. Something's missing - location, movement, command, tipping his pitches? I'm not sure. Later

Gordon Suero is dropping like a rock. He'll have to get back to last year's AA numbers before he can maintain his prospect status. Later
  12. Benge drives in Ewing with the winning run. we have seen the future. later
  13. Two left fielders and no right fielder? We've heard of the shift, but that's ridiculous. That alignment will give up a lot of triples. Later
  14. Looks like you and Edgy posted around the same time. Later
  15. Bad luck for Alvarez... again. Later
  16. Baseball writer Ken Rosenthal called it a "desperation move". I'd like to see him eat those words. Later
  17. By those numbers, Brazoban would be the first one out of the bullpen tonight. But his stuff is similar to the starter's (Scott), so I'm not sure if he would be the first reliever I'd use. Later
  18. And after the game, he cleaned the restrooms and swept out the lower deck. Later
  19. I haven't read where Ewing will definitely be in the starting lineup. I hope he is. The Mets offense (a true oxymoron if there ever was one) needs a spark of energy. Later
  20. Too early for trade rumors. Give it another month, Later
