  1. Back when the NHL had six teams(and I cared about hockey), Guelph was the farm team of the NY Rangers. I still don't know where it is, either. Later
  2. And he should be forgetting to finish his job for another team. Later
  3. The video I saw had his stats during his first homer. His BA was .188. I'm not going to get too excited about this. other than saying "good game". Later
  4. He led the Mets pitchers in appearances with 65. More often than not it was " well, he pitched" and not "he pitched well". I recall thinking that he was the second reliever named Ryne that I had seen. The other was Ryne Duren in the 1950s.* Later * = ****, I feel old
  5. Ryan Stanek has signed with St. Louis. Later
  6. Outfielder Max Kepler has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for the performance-enhancing drug Epitrenbolone, MLB announced on Friday. The 32-year-old Kepler is currently a free agent after spending last season with the Philadelphia Phillies. The clock on Kepler's 80-game suspension will begin if he signs a major league contract for the upcoming season. He is automatically ineligible for the 2026 postseason due to the ban. Later
  7. The little guy getting hurt - again. Later
  8. Did they give any details? Reporting for a paper? A website? What will he be hosting? Inquiring minds want to know. Later
  9. He was just ranked #21 on the 2026 Mets prospect list by amazinavenue. The writeup: https://www.amazinavenue.com/mets-minor-league/88971/top-25-mets-prospects-for-2026-edward-lantigua-21 Later
  10. I wouldn't like to give up Peterson. He was fine until he hit the wall last year. The most innings he had pitched in a year before that was about 120. Last year he ran into problems when the count got up over that. He ended up pitching 160+ innings. I think that he will lengthened out this year and pitch better towards year end. Later
  11. The families of team owners generally aren't well known and/or stay out of the spotlight. The last one I remember was Georgia Frontiere, wife of the owner of the LA Rams football team. But in this day of the internet, they are more visible and reachable. I'm surprised this kind of stuff doesn't happen more often. Later
  12. I'd take Tucker if WE had an opt-out after one year. Later
  13. Just noticed Ryan Braun is hovering around the 5% level. I thought he might get more support. (OPS+ over 130) But I looked at his numbers and saw a big drop-off at a relatively young age. Was he thought to be juicing? Later
  14. If you build it, they will come. Later
  15. Mark Feinsand reporting that that Japanese 1B/3B slugger Kazuma Okamoto has signed with the Blue Jays. Later
  16. We're waiting for another sandal to drop. I don't think it will be a boot. Later
  17. Then this is even more confusing: Later
  18. IIRC the Mets had great stolen base numbers this year (percentage?). Maybe that is his niche coaching skill. Later
  19. Teddy Roosevelt wasn't in this poll. So I voted for one of my favorite unsung hero Mets, Terry Leach. Later
  20. Imai reportedly has a three year deal with the Astros. Later
  21. He's a Mets 2025 minor league all -star https://metsmerizedonline.com/2025-mets-minor-league-all-stars/ Later
  22. He might just beat out Don Hahn. But not by much. Later
  23. At least he curved the brim. Later
  24. It’s the most frustrating time of the year For new players we’re yelling And the owner is telling us to “hold onto your beer” It’s the most anxious time of the year It’s the crap-crapiest season of all With those holiday greetings after both meetings I just want to bawl. It’s the crap-crapiest season of all Other fans will be boasting Our sportscasters roasting With no new players our GM could show We’ll have to live with the stories And tales of past glories of Series won long, long ago It’s the most frustrating time of the year There’ll be much anger growing Other teams’ signees showing Players we would hold dear It’s the crap-crapiest time of the year It’s the most frustrating time of the year There’ll be much anger growing Other teams’ signees showing Players we would hold dear It’s the most frustrating time It’s the most frustrating time It’s the most frustrating time of the year Later
