bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Post your Mets-related wish for 2017. Just one (I'm a stingy genie). It can't be "that the Mets win the World Series" or anything related to making the playoffs, record, winning a certain number of games/not losing a certain number of games, finishing first, making it to the Series, that there is a Mets parade, etc., et al. It has to be specific, such as:That David Wright does not go on the DL all season (that's mine). It can be personal, about you or your family. Kapeesh? Do it! And best Met wishes to you for 2017.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 That none of the remaining Sunday home games are switched to night games for ESPN.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Duda stays healthy all season.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Ditto on Conforto. But since it's taken I'll go with Harvey returning to form.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Conforto to be huge. Huge, I tell ya!Duda too. Huge, I tell ya!That guy Brue too. Huge, I tell ya!

Guest cooby Guests Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Comeback years for those who need one
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Mets sweep a double header in Washington on the day Trump is impeached.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 All of our starters make it through the year and reach their potential!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 May Travis be the Travis Travis can truly be.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 The triumphant return, and ascension, of Zack Wheeler.

DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 that the organization comes to its senses and adopts "Meet the Mets" as it's signature seventh-inning stretch sing along song.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 +1 for bmfc1 and JCL's. I wouldn't even know what to expect out of David Wright if he appeared in > 145 games, but what a thing that would be. I'm going to wish that no Met acts like an asshole in 2k17. Fulfillment of that would result in no arrests, no suspensions, no mistreated WAGs/significant others, nobody acting like a jagoff Papelbon. Honorable dudes, no assholes.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 That I get to Citi for the first time since becoming a dad.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 30 starts apiece for the Big Four. If that happens, everything else will fall into place.

Now if Trump was a Democrat, the band of shameless hypocrites that is the GOP would probably have the articles of impeachment already prepared. And then just to make an even bigger spectacle of the whole thing, they'd probably serve those papers on Trump on national TV about two seconds after he's sworn in as President.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 I'd like to see the Mets lock at least one of the stud starters into a longer-term deal. Nothing crazy, because we know that pitchers are fragile. But I don't want to hear talk about them trading them off because we can't afford them. Also, is there a chance we can keep some of the nasty political rhetoric out of the baseball threads? There are at least two political threads in the non-baseball forum dedicated to this kind of stuff. It's starting to bleed over and I bet I'm not the only one who would like a respite. Am I the only one? Thanks!
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Tom Seaver 50th Anniversary Weekend, celebrating the debut of the greatest player in franchise history.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 SELL THE TEAM NOW!!!!Only kidding ... sort of

Am I the only one?I'm with you - I was about to write a nasty response to one of them but i refrained as we already have that in politics threads. keep it there, or risk the baseball forum becoming unreadable.I'll wish for d'Arnaud or Plawecki garnering some MVP votes and someone finally claiming that job for the long term.

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I generally ignore individual awards, but a Cy Young and Silver Slugger for Syndergaard would be awesome.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 deGrom Harvey Matz and Wheeler pitch well.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I gotta be honest I think I will be rooting harder for Trump to lose than the Mets to win in 2017.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Oh and I forgot: I'd also like for the Mets to celebrate the anniversary of Seaver's debut and also paint the walls white. Or toothpasty mint.

So if you're banning, I'm with JCL.I agree it shouldn't be conducted in this section but people are people and they will do what they do. It's not a crime that such a discussion took place in the baseball section. I ran a message board a few times. You cannot control people, only contain them. So move on, nothing to see here.Except maybe those minty white walls if Batmags gets his wish. It will be 50 years. Oh my gosh. They gotta do something super special!
