It might be more fun to pick entrance songs for OTHER pitchers.

What should Franco's have been? Benitez's?

How about "Electric Boogie" for Mo?

]It's Electric!

You can't see it
[it's electric!]
You gotta feel it
[it's electric!]
Ooh, it's shakin'
[it's electric!]
[Jiggle-a-mesa-cara
She's a pumpin' like a matic
She's a movin' like electric
She sure got the boogie]

You gotta know it
[it's electric
Boogie woogie, woogie!]
Now you can't hold it
[it's electric
Boogie woogie, woogie!]
But you know it there,
Yeah here there everywhere

If we move Zambrano to the bullpen again, he can have "Walk" by Pantera.

Starting pitchers at Shea have a long tradition of getting a designated record played.

Indeed. Glavine has been using "Sweet Child O'Mine" since he's been a Met.
Victor Zambrano used "Vertigo" last year.

While I'd like to forget most of what David Cone did for the Mets in '03, I always thought his choice of "Need You Tonight" was inspired.

Never Been Any Reason by Head East would have been appropriate for any pathetic reliever, like oh, Mel Rojas.

Posted

Thematic: "Closing Time", "End of the Road"
Inappropriate: "You Light Up My Life", "High Enough"
Strange: "Mandy", "Champagne Supernova"

I've spent way too much time in my life thinking about this one. I've settled on Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J.

Ooh, that's actually a good one.

Good title and the music is appropriate for a closer's entrance.

"I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out!"

I like it.

"Edgy's Heart"

Sing with Danny Peck as you imagine me entering in the ninth with the bags drunk:

Edgy’s heart she hides away

Edgy’s heart won’t see the day

Edgy’s heart i hope she’s listening to me

When i sing it

Can she see

That i mean it

And the moon in the sky

Like the love in my eye

Try’s to find edgy’s heart

Edgy’s heart

Edgy’s heart

Edgy’s heart she plays for dead

But edgy’s heart is cherry red

Edgy’s heart is beating a sound

That i hear i can feel it

Does she fear love

She needs it

Cause she learning to smile

While she’s turning the key

Can i free edgy’s heart

And i think i caught a river

And it rushing tonight

And i think i caught a reason

And it’s feeling alright

And i wonder if there’ll

Ever be a meaning

To the love in our loves

And will i find edgy’s heart

Edgy’s heart

Edgy’s heart

Edgy’s heart she hides away

Edgy’s heart won’t see the day

Edgy’s heart i hope she’s listening

To me

It's funny... I remember before a game in high school, we were hanging around by our bench when the opposing team showed up. They had to walk past us to get to their bench, and as the kid who was pitching that day walked by, he had his walkman on. It was turned up so loud, we could hear that song playing.

Of course, we all made fun of him at the time. I don't remember if he shut us down or not. Probably not.

Wagner would probably work best for Jason Isringhausen.......

(of course, Billy Wagner could start pronouncing his name differently, as well)
