Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Benge not running for Alvarez here, either.

We should send Vientos to Syracuse but Mendy will probably buy him dinner for being "aggressive." If John Stearns were still 3B coach he'd likely would have drilled Vientos with a tackle. It's totally illegal but we all know how much Stearns used to love reliving his days as a Safety at U of Colorado.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago And now we have the closer question coming up. Did anybody answer that one earlier?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We should have traded for Buxton, not Robby Jr.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I make an Outman reference and now here he is. I'm a jerk.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago WoW. Congratulations to the fans for bringing a playoff intensity. Congratulations to the players for it also, even if they expressed that intensity with some boneheadedness.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Weaver now tied (with Holmes) for the Mets lead in pitching wins (2).

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Actually, I didn't think you were posting about the game when you wrote that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago So not to cast any negative light on things during this joyous occasion, but we're 24 games into the season now and, if you figure that 4.5 R/G per team is the norm for a baseball team, the Mets now have FIVE games where they've scored more than 4.5 R/G [11, 10, 9, 5] and 19 where they've been 4 RS or fewer.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Also Mark Vientos is possibly the slowest man I have ever seen play for the Mets. John Olerud carrying a refrigerator is faster.

In the meantime, the Phils just lost (7-2 to the Cubbies) meaning that we and the Phightin's are now TIED for last place in the NL (L)East. It's not much, but it's something.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Staub second tour was definitely slower. But Rusty '72- '75 was only somewhat slow. He had 47 career SBs more than half of them (24) of them during a three year span with Montreal in his age 25 to 27 seasons ['69, '70, '71]
