The 2026 batch of City Connect jerseys officially dropped today.  Some are old jerseys reimagined. Some are just reboots of previous City Connect jerseys. And some (the Brewers and the Orioles, in particular) really leaned into it and created a new look with different color palettes.

What do you think?

And dig this wild-ass number font. The five looks like a backwards, upside-down two.

I like the Atlanta one except for the fact that it is an Atlanta one!

Never heard the expression "Wisco" for Wisconsin but then I do live the other side of the Atlantic.

I hadn't heard that one either. I love the font on Wisco anwyay.

These bore me to death, but they're still better than the all-black look they just retired.

I agree that the Braves have the best one. The Pirates don't look like they've done much at all, nor have the Rangers. It's like they ran out of X's but had some leftover J's. The Padres look pretty good. The Royals' cap is stupid.

I like the details on the Rangers sleeves and inside the "T" on the hat, but it really looks like a college top.

The purple-blue gradient on the Royals shirt keeps grabbing the eyes. That's a solid entry, I think.

My feelings on the City Connect jerseys are kinda mixed.

I don't like City Connect jerseys that are a different color scheme than the team's actual colors.  I think it dilutes the product (the team).  Nothing is better than walking into a stadium and seeing a sea of red, or blue, or whatever color is the team's primary.

But if you keep the same color scheme, then that limits your options.  You get things like this Pirates jersey, or the Reds jersey, which just kinda looks like an alternate Reds uniform.  Maybe I'd be more flexible on the color thing if they wore them less often.

I think you have to focus on the city itself.  So you remove anything that says "Pirates" or any sort of team logo.  You're there to represent the city itself.  And you have to figure out how to do that without looking like a cheesy airport shirt (don't just slap a picture of your tallest building), without being just a throwback jersey (using an old Negro League jersey is lame), and without being so obscure that you're constantly explaining it.

And most of all, it should be a once in a while thing, not a regularly cycled alternate jersey.  Maybe you have one City Connect week, or one City Connect homestand.  Otherwise, you wear your traditional gear.

They should be banned for the postseason, along with that stupid Strauss advertisement on the helmets.

I agree. The Braves jersey should have peaches. The Pirates jersey should have steel. Or three rivers. The Reds jersey should have, um, uh, Les Nessman?

First look, into the Pirates, which looks like Batman or some shit.

Wisco sounds like an industrial league slow-pitch team.

BMORE stupid, amirite?

Braves look good but powder blue is already getting old again.

Agree, Rangers look like a college football team. I pretty much hate all their looks except those whacky early 70s look when they were the Majors' worst team.

Padres, who cares. I think this is already their 3rd CC look

What does everybody like about Atlanta?

I honestly could go my whole life without ever seeing another powder blue jersey.  I accept it for The Royals, as it is part of their standard palette, but even then, it feels like the printer is low on toner.

The Pirates look like they are here to fuck somebody up.  If they actually become a good team in that kit, they will make it their standard.

I met someone from Wisconsin today and asked her if people there say "Wisco" and she answered with a resounding, enthusiastic yes. She loved the new Brewers shirts. That one's probably my favorite of this batch, but I do think stuff like Wisco and BMORE and PGH are dumb.

I think it should be said that the Rangers pandering to Hispanic fans with "TEJAS" should fuck right off after they pulled a statue of a racist Texas Ranger out of storage and propped it up in their stadium. They're the absolute worst org.

Who or what is that on the shoulder of the Padres kit? I'm going with:

a) a corpse from the local morgue

b) Queen Elizabeth I

c) Lady Gaga's current look

The T is kinda pandering to University of Texas fans too.

I'm kinda down with the TEJAS chest plate, though, because bigot MAGA congressmen like Brandon Gill are openly declaring anything not in English to be un-American and subject to deportation.

Although, you don't really need to spell it "TEJAS" to pronounce it TE-has, as far as I know, so it kind of feels forced.

That's La Catrina. She's a prominent symbol for Dia de los Muertos. The candles seem to represent an ofrenda, which is a little shrine for departed loved ones. We have one in our house.

The Tigers made a change to their City Connect cap. They ditched the one with "Detroit" across the front, and replaced it with the regular Old English D, but kept the VIN on the side and the blue and black tiger eyes on the underbill.

I am not really a fan of the City Connect uniforms   I agree that they should incorporate the teams usual color pallette.  Just incorporate them in a new way.

Of these examples I like the Pirates & Padres.

Personally, I would be fine if the City Connect uniforms were simply dropped.

I like the Pirates one a lot -- especially the gold caps. But that looks just like Pirates uniform. I don't know what the city connection is for that one.

I'm going to see the Brewers on Saturday night. Will be curious to see what those look like in the store.
