  1. having broken rib in a football match last november it is a really tricky injury to recover from. . I was back playing matches in January but was very conscious of it till mid february at the earliest and I still feel it a little at times today
  2. that was a fun game - I was only watching on the phone so didn't get a great chance to see what I thought of Safeco Field, but definitely enjoyed Dante Bichette coming to the party.
  3. it has been mentioned on the broadcast and maybe elsewhere - but the horrendous number of west coast trips this early in the season must be some kind of record - the fact that they're finished them by the 7th of June has to be very unusual ! Season Last West Coast road trip ended 2023 Aug. 6 2024 Sept. 1 2025 July 27
  4. and those of us on the east of the atlantic can get a rare sighting of Safeco (now T-Mobile) Field in the wild.
  5. I'm proud of that one ;)
  6. I'll be honest I was just trying to remember who hit some home runs for us when he was on the Braves. Can't say it was anything other then that!
  7. Lucas Duda
  8. Ike Davis.
  9. seemingly it could be Jared Young.
  10. to think just 3 days ago I was thinking the offence was on it's way to resuming adequacy
  11. yes - but in terms of runs there's been a massive difference - our average run per game on 30th April was 3.4 and we were in 29th place - now it's 4.08 and in 23rd. and while we are still lowest in OPS that is now a .003 gap to 29th (SDP) .046 to 15th. Whereas on April 30th the gap to 29th (SFG) was .024 and .076 to 15th. (there were times then the gaps were bigger but 30th April felt like the right place)
  12. everyone bar Taylor is off the interstate now. still too many below the ordonez line
  13. The thing about the umpire not giving ball 4 with the position player pitching is that he wasn't calling borderline pitches strikes in the 9th to 'get it over with', so the mets could have ended up needing to use an extra pitcher which is exactly what the Tigers avoided by throwing yer man in. AJ Ewing was fun.
  14. I think the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, and if on 30th September or whatever we are not in the playoffs I find it hard to believe that Stearns will be retained - unless he's gone to Cohen in July with the "here's my plan for 2027-31" and Cohen believes in it and they extract value from 'the assets' that they have in preparation. I should have remembered how non-plussed I was by the Luis Robert acquisition - not that Luisangel Acuna was worth much - but just that it was a $20 million (40 odd if you count the luxury tax) bet that I didn't see a great chance of hitting.
  15. yeah, I get that but I'm not sure I'm there yet. I don't think changing POBO/GM whatever, early May is the best plan. I think if we fail to make the playoffs he's going to be very likely gone, but there's time to deal with that then.
