bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Time to act, even if you're Acting in your role. I'm thinking that the Mets will "extend" QO's to Conforto and Syndergaard if only to get an extra draft pick should the offer be declined. Noah wants to stay and will likely accept. We're not sure about Conforto.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 IS anyone acting in the role? It's just Sandy right? He probably is the one always having to empty the keurig container too.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Confortoboom will be interesting. He certainly wasn't the poster child for awalk season and of course his agent is Scott Dickhead.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 so... what happens if they don't activate cano?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 they are in violation of the rules of major league baseball. It's just roster record-keeping stuff. Jacob just couldn't find anything else to make his list important. He might as well have included "Activate Thomas Szapucki from the 60 day IL"
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Would be nice to have whoever will be in charge the next 4-5 years in placeto decide what to do with headaches like Cano and his $40 million. Would benice to know if the DH will be a thing next year too, I suppose.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 I Mean, Cano is easy. he's there. you have all offseason, and it's silly to cut someone before you have to for any other reason anyway. But we don't even know like, if the season is going to start on time. All the rules could change, from DH, to years of control, to anything else.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 They could pay someone to spike his Kool-aid so he fails again and be donewith him bing bang boom. I'm sure Cohen has a fixer or two.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 QOs have been extended to Conforto and Syndergaard.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 It appears that in the https://www.mlb.com/news/history-of-mlb-qualifying-offer-decisions-c300602464history of QO's, compensatory picks for the Mets have turned into Marcus Stroman and Francisco Lindor/Carlos Carrasco.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 I'd be stunned if Thor doesn't take the QO. Nobody's paying him $18M next year off two straight lost seasons.Conforto has some decisions to make, because someone will give him a big multi-year deal if the Mets don't.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Thor's QO reaction on social media gave me a chuckle.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Passan reports Conforto says no to QO.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Good luck to him, and I hope Boras painfully stubs both toes tonight.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Conforto has got some balls to decline 18 million dollars after the craptastic year he had,Can we get a manager? New Yanqis third base coach is....Luis Rojas. He moved up in the food chain.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 No, Rojas moved down.Strange move by the Scoots. I guess he goes to Coloraddy.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2021 Author Posted November 8, 2021 I've read guesses that Conforto goes to Seattle, where he is from, or Philadelphia, because of new Hitting Coach Kevin Long.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Conforto can leave, but I don't want him in the division. You know how that'll go. Badly.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Yay Boras, go get 'em boy! *rolleyes*
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 And I agree that a) if he leaves, I'm fine with it, Seattle is perfect andc) Washington or Phillies would probably haunt us for a few years, so NO...

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I change my slant to breaking two pinky toes instead of big-toe stubbing.Scott Boras and his history with the Mets deserves it's own thread. Maybe.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Yay Boras, go get 'em boy! *rolleyes*I'm not saying, "Yey, Boras." Just think you're throwing shade at the wrong party.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Not sure why you're singling me out, but whatever. And 'wrong party' is pretty amusing as well.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 "Michael Conforto, Phillie" gives me the shakes. Dear goodness, no.
