Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 We didn't hit much, but we held them to just three and two of those were softies.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I missed the bottom of the ninth because Extra Innings forgot to return from the commercial break. By the time I was able to get to another feed the inning was over.No big deal, I guess. All's well that ends well.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 If you told me there'd be a scoreless save by Diaz, I'd've taken it and given you a generous tip!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 This one was an obvious and almost automatic tribute, but a nice one none the less.[FIMG=450]https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/07/Mets-honor-Anthony-Causi.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=618&h=410&crop=1[/FIMG]
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 A pitcher's duel victory on Opening Day in under three hours? Yes, please. Yeah, I missed baseball.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 More of this, please. With perhaps a smidge more hitting.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 So did they have crowd noise at least?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Indeed, they had semi convincing crowd noise. I'm not sure if it was pumped into the park or just over the air. I suspect the former, though.I have my quibbles, but Rojas passed his first test with me by batting Canó sixth, and passed another big one later by lifting him for defense.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I think the Post is shamelessly trying hard to win their first Tabloid Cover Derby by ripping off a previous winner:https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Edv5ztFXsAANXK8?format=jpg&name=360x360>http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/ceremonyFeb2017.jpg>http://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/lobbyFeb2017.jpg>
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 'Yo My Goodness' will give it a run for its money, though.
