    I keep waiting for the day that we get to post the Memories of Craig Kimbrel thread. Other guys on the 40: Alex Carrillo (5.74 ERA with 19 walks in 15 innings) Daniel Duarte (just sent down, but 2.60 in 17 IP) Joey Gerber (9.28 in 10.2 IP in Syracuse) Jonathan Pintaro (2.52 in 25 IP with 32 K) Dylan Ross (1.54 ERA across three levels) Anderson Severino (0.98 in 18 IP, including one start) I leave off Tong because he's a starter replacement.

    I've always conflated Zach Littell with Mark Littell, an unrelated Cardinals pitcher in the early 80s. I remember the elder Littell because his 1981 Topps card not only looked badly airbrushed, but my copy also had a fuzzy printing error that made it look like he was bleeding from the eyes. It was so weird.

    My gut reaction says that feels about right. I remember Niese being better than he actually was, for what it's worth, but an ERA of just under 4 is better than a lot of guys we've had.

    Raley has been, far and away, our best reliever. I'm not sure what games you're watching.

    I still have no idea why the Mets insist on this wild shuttle of pitchers up and down all the time. And maybe a lot of teams do it, I don't know. But it feels like overkill. What was the point of calling up Gerber, then? And they had to move Minter to the 60 in order to call him up, which means he (or whoever) just gets cut when Minter comes back next week anyway. This team. Oy.
