  1. It's Xzavion time!
  2. Austin Warren to the IL, which means they'll bring up two relievers for tonight when they DFA Seelinger.
  3. I was busy and wasn't going to watch last night, but turned it on after we were down 16-11, purely for the Gary and Keith comedy value.
  4. I was absolutely rooting for Tolbert to get a hit in the 9th. That would have been cool.
  5. How does this happen? What the hell is going on in that dugout?
  6. Mets 200-1 in their history entering tonight when they score 12 runs. That's a *phenomenal* stat.
  7. This team's roster management is beyond awful. So sorry, SUNY friend. At least you got to live your dream before you get DFAed again tomorrow.
  8. I knew! Worked at Old Westbury for a few years and I loved our conference.
  9. Yeah, feels like we're waiting for the "Zuniga down, Duarte up" message from the home office.
  10. 1. Don Zimmer? 2, Nobody? 3. Victor Zambrano, Todd Zeile, Daniel "Stony Brook" Zamora, Pat Zachry, and the aforementioned late Mr. Zimmer.
  11. Can we release Vientos midgame?
  12. Morel isn't even on the 40. I don't know that he's up soon unless something weird happens. Plus, there's the whole "he's not all that good at baseball" thing. He basically Mark Vientos.
  13. I mean, look. The guy was probably the best pitcher in baseball for four years, and that absolutely counts for something. He struck out everyone, threw lightning bolts, was unhittable, and was basically must-watch baseball. Maybe he didn't have a lot of wins because he pitched for bad teams, but that's almost irrelevant to the Hall discussion. If you'd asked this question at the end of that fourth gonzo season, then yeah, he's basically a lock once he gets to ten years. But it didn't last. Injuries and life get in the way. The question here is whether I'm talking about Luis Tiant, Dwight Gooden, Johan Santana, Dave Stieb, Mark Langston, Bret Saberhagen, or deGrom. Because you can say that about those guys, too. And they're not HOFers either.
  14. Oof. Really good question. But my gut says no. If he really does pitch four or five more years, hits 3,000 K or something crazy? Then probably. But that seems wildly unlikely. And that's kinda too bad, because his 2017-20 is up there with 97-03 Pedro or 62-65 Koufax or 68-70 Bob Gibson. But the volume just isn't there because of the injuries.
  15. I didn't realize how Rochestery this IGT was. Ernie Clement could run for mayor right now. He's enormously popular here.
  16. I don't see the point of this, with Clifford needing the ABs in Syracuse and Young "playing the lion's share" at first base in the bigs. But hey, sure. He was a prospect once.
  17. That's not the first time I've thought that, actually. Hi, Gare!
  18. Yeah, but in Mets Manager Torre's defense, he took over a terrible team built around one guy who could mash and then a bunch of guys around him who couldn't hit their way out of a paper bag, as opposed to this team. (Oh, wait.)
  19. Huh. Can he still play some first base too?
  20. Green, at least, has been in the org for a while and theoretically knows these kids as well as anyone. Hopefully that leads to something.
  21. (Ooh, Beltran on the manager list. I mean, I guess, technically, yeah.)
  22. I'd read somewhere (here? reddit?) that he wasn't ready to play back to back games yet.
