  1. I've voted "for the first time" three times, I mean. Like I check the thread and it's like the poll has been reset. (Of course, now it's fine.)
  2. I'm pretty pleased with this setup at my desk today. Video live and muted, Audacy up in the background with Howie and Keith. Hopefully it's not too far off on the delay.
  3. George Washington forgetting the lyrics to the National Anthem feels very on-brand for 2026.
  4. @Brock BeauchampThe votes don't seem to keep in this thread, by the way. I've voted three times.
  5. 6. Posted this on FB but I guess it makes more sense here. It's baseball time We're all here to be Amazed At baseball time The tarp is off and the game is played A pleasant good afternoon, everybody First pitch and we're underway Everybody clap your hands It's baseball time We'll sing "My Girl" And yell "heeeee struck him out" At baseball time, the merry go round Will be in motion There's a game outside in Flushing And GKR are in your ears And the only water flowing Is your sixteen-dollar beer And the Philly fans are weepin' Are the Braves fans they are too Well, tonight, thank God it's them Instead of youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Pitch the ball Let them know it's baseball time and Pitch the ball Do they know it's baseball time at all? The apple's up in Willets Point this afternoon C'e na luna Lazy Mary time Veterans and rooks, we'll put it in the books Do you know it's baseball time at all? Pitch the ball Let them know it's baseball time and Pitch the ball Do they know it's baseball time at all? Here's to you Raise your glass for Davey now We'll be back With the happy recap Do they know it's baseball time at all? Pitch the ball Let them know it's baseball time again
  7. I assume our IGT conventions are still the same as the old days (winning starter has to start the next day)?
  8. And after all that, Baty is DHing. So it's likely to be: 1288 Bichette 1289 Polanco 1290 Robert 1291 Semien 1292 Benge 1293 Peralta I assume?
  9. Yeah, Edgy had Young on the roster. So prescient.
  10. Roster is posted. Hudson is out, Lovelady is in. Benge making the team means Brujan is the odd man out.
  11. And I'm assuming we put Peralta in the imaginary tenth spot in the batting order for this exercise, rather than zeroth, even though he is directly involved in the actual game before any of the other guys by definition.
  12. Even though he will have a "1" in the Games column? I agree that he comes after the fielders, but I'd think being in the starting lineup has to be enough to make it as an official Met Count Met once the game starts. Even if the wild boar forces him into retirement when it jumps into the dugout after the first pitch, he still has a game played as a Met on his baseball card, just with zero PA. It's not like Jim Bibby or Ruddy Lugo, who were in uniform and active but never appeared in a game. Nobody does Mets pedantry like this place. It's why I'm glad to be back.
  13. So how do we do Met Count for an Opening Day home game? Lineup order, yes, but now that the pitcher's not in the lineup, does he go first because it's a home game? And by extension, does the DH go last because he's not on the field in the top of the first? Gotta prep my Mets book and get the cards in the right spots. Last year's thread: https://grandcentralmets.com/forums/topic/73650-met-count-2025 Dom Hamel was 1287, so whoever's first is 1288. (Apropos of nothing, I've got autos from 1215 of the 1287 in the book. A new season always messes with my percentages, but I've got Semien, Benge, Peralta, and Garcia ready to go.)
  14. I'm sure this happens to every team, but it's sort of weirdly fascinating that we've had these Ghost Mets who aren't even really Ghost Mets recently.
  15. Thought I saw somewhere that he was moving to 3.
  16. Feels like the right move. I like it.
  17. I'll second that. Love that it exists in its own form - sometimes this thread becomes a slog when you have to scroll through an entire organizationload of players, sometimes five or six times on one page. It's not entirely mobile-friendly, though. For what that's worth.
  18. None of these players should be in any Mets Hall of Fame, by almost any metric. I am so confused.
