  1. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I guess I don't care if it's a new apple or the old apple, but there has to be an apple at CitiField. LOVE the apple.
  2. Sounds like we need a poll. I am very decidedly pro-apple.
  3. We really wanted to go tonight -- I have some Mets money that we were hoping to buy tickets with, and I really wanted an Endy Bobblehead to go with the Endy auto that I picked up, but we're headed to the Ducks Sunday night instead. If anyone winds up with an extra Endy bobblehead that they're willing to part with, please let me know.
  4. That's because they snuck the walls closer to home plate and didn't want to tell anyone. Conspiracy! Conspiracy!
  5. This Reyes kid can fly. I guess that's why they call him the Dominican Ichiro Suzuki.
  6. Centerfield wrote: If that doesn't work, he should call Isiah Thomas and turn Franco into a first-round draft pick. The sad thing is that Isiah would actually make that move.
  7. I'm not saying she's not annoying, I'm just agreeing that she's cute. Her "$40 A Day" show was an invaluable resource when we visited Montreal a few years back; we found great restaurants because of that show.
  8. Wow... I didn't think this would actually happen. Good luck to Julio, and thanks for the memories. That makes today's Dugout outdated immediately.
  9. I'm with you on Rachael Ray too.
  10. ="Johnny Dickshot"]Coutlangus is a converted outfielder whose been pretty effective against lefties. He revealed himself to be a Met-Lovin Big Shot in this MiLB.com interview: ]Question: Who did you idolize growing up? Coutlangus: I idolized Howard Johnson -- he played for the Mets. That's who I always looked up to and I had about 100 of his baseball cards. He was a hard-nosed baseball player and ran everything out. I tried to emulate his stance when I was playing. Plus, he features the brilliant Christopher Walken:
  11. Well, I bit the bullet and I have one of those autographed Endys coming my way. It'll be a neat piece to add to my collection. Speaking of collecting, I've just been selected to join the mod team over at The Bench, so if you're a card collector and would love to talk about it, there's a very large, active, and open trading community just waiting for you! Make sure you list me as a reference!
  12. Reese Witherspoon, on the other hand, is gorgeous.
  13. 1. Don't know. 2. According to Wikipedia: The manager for each league's team has for many years been the manager of the previous year's league champion. This honor is given to the manager, not the team, so it's possible that the All-Star manager could no longer be with the team with which he won, as happened in 2003, when Dusty Baker managed the National League team despite having moved from the National League champion San Francisco Giants to the Chicago Cubs. This has even included situations where the person is no longer actively managing a team: in 1979, Bob Lemon managed the American League team after having been fired by New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. The coaching staff is selected by the manager. 3. Not.
  14. Dude can fly. That's why they call him the "Japanese Jose Reyes."
  15. No, Tim, he's the starting second baseman because he was voted the starting second baseman.
  16. And the Mets... set the Yankees down in the first.
  17. I think Tim McCarver actually shed a tear when Jeet GIDPed there. You could hear his voice crack, like his hero was just discovered in bed with a stripper.
  18. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee grounds into the DP. Suck it, Jeter.
  19. Me: "I wonder how they chose Reyes to catch the first pitch." Ms Wolf: "He won the raffle."
  20. Dammit, you're telling me nobody had the chance to teach Chris Isaak the words to the national anthem before they sent him out there?
  21. "Chase Utley? Why would I do that?" I love the blue hat/pinstripes combo. Whoever made that decision gets a raise.
  22. I like Bonds second, because it forces Haren to throw him big, fat meaty fastballs with Jose Reyes dancing off first base.
  23. My wife asked me that during the last promo for "B is B." She said "that's really starting at 10:00? How is that possible when I'm always asleep before the end of the Derby?" That show looks really horrendously boring, by the way. Maybe it's just that they're showing bad clips, but if that's representative of the show...
  24. Dusty Baker was just talking about his son imitating Albert Pujols. Do you think that, say, David Newhan's kids ever emulate Newhan, or the little Easleys hit pretend singles up the middle in their backyard? "Hey, why don't you try using my stance?" "Because you suck, Dad."
