  1. =41Forever post_id=18779 time=1565800422 user_id=69] Anthony DiComo @AnthonyDiComo Source: Jeff McNeil's MRI revealed only a mild left hamstring strain. The expectation is he will be able to return the Mets in 10 days. Mostly good news, I think.
  2. FREE DILSON HERRERA
  3. If it's any consolation, McNeil seems hopeful that this is not season ending. McNeil was hurt while trying to beat out a grounder in a 5-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. McNeil said he felt "a little snag" in his left hamstring as he approached first base. He slammed down his helmet after crossing the bag in obvious frustration and after a brief delay walked gingerly back to the Mets dugout, accompanied by a trainer. "It didn't feel great, but I don't think it's terrible," McNeil said. "We'll see what it feels like in the morning." An MRI was scheduled for Wednesday in Atlanta to determine the extent of the injury. McNeil said he hopes it's not serious enough to send him to the injured list. "I didn't feel it pop," he said. "Just a little snag. Nothing crazy." One of the National League's top hitters, McNeil is batting .332, and he made the All-Star Game for the first time. He has 15 homers and 55 RBIs out of the leadoff spot, helping spark the Mets on a run of 15 wins in 18 games. "The team is playing well," he said. "I just want to contribute. Hopefully, this is something real short and I can get right back on the field." https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27383255/mets-mcneil-goes-hamstring-injuryhttps://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27383255/mets-mcneil-goes-hamstring-injury A few things to unfold. Not "popping" is big deal I guess. Once it pops it's 6 weeks minimum. So maybe there's some hope there. Also, this is the first time I can remember that a player wasn't flown back to NY for the MRI. I wonder if the idea is that they keep him in Atlanta so maybe he can play the finale? This seems like a bad idea if that's the case. This really sucks. Jeff was having a magnificent year.
  4. What a crap game. Hope McNeil is ok.
  5. Why would guillorme not take a strike there. Fucking moron.
  6. This game is miserable. Had a shit day. This is perfect.
  7. Amazing work BG. I'm curious where the winning cover will be displayed. The lobby is already taken. And does the cover hang for 56 years until the next Derby?
  8. I would love to go to this. It doesn't appear to line up with the kids' break though.
  9. Missed this game due to my son's games. It's a bummer but I would have signed on for 2 out of 3 before the weekend. What fun series. It's funny, if that throw is made we probably sweep them. But if Guillorme doesn't hit his first HR on Saturday, we probably lose two of three. And if Guillorme pops up that ball and Todd Frazier hits into a DP, we get swept. This is why baseball fans are so neurotic. Little plays make such a huge difference.
  10. No really, where is Carlos Gomez?
  11. Really the first time since the 2016 WC game we've played a game this yuge. Feels weird.
  12. I'm eh on this move. Not a lot of upside. I'd rather see Dilson.
  13. If his slider has been the problem, and if the ball is different in the second half, as I've been speculating, then this could be potentially great for us.
  14. Our allies not getting the job done today.
  15. I still hate Selig more than Manfred. But the gap is closing.
  16. THE RECORD MIGHT FALL TODAY. OR FRIDAY. DEFINITELY THIS WEEKEND.
  17. That's fine with me. Plug in Dilson at 2B, Hech is your utility guy, and bring back CarGo over Altherr. But seriously, if they DFA a guy, can they bring him back?
  18. I know he was DFA'd. Did he catch one somewhere? Can we look into bringing him back? I'm all on board for Dilson Herrera over Hechevarria.
  19. That looks more like a major league lineup. OF defense whatever.
  20. STRONG DISAGREE MY FRIEND. PNC Park is a treasure. So, I concede that the food is bad, so you eat downtown before heading over. Lots of great pubs and restaurants to choose from. Then walk over the bridge and you're right there at the park. For me, every ballpark should be next to a bridge. Visit the statue of Honus Wagner before you walk in. A statue to commemorate their greats. What a novel concept. Once you get in, the sights are amazing. The bridges and downtown in the background...I recommend sitting on the third base line. Amazing views. There's a picnic area along the river where you can hang out pre-game. It's like being at a riverside park, except there is good beer and baseball. It's so funny, to me, this felt so spacious and nice. You can also go visit the bronze casting of Ralph Kiner's hands. This was a little weird, but if you're artsy, I guess that's a thing. As night falls, and the lights come on, you can see the skyline behind the RF fence. The Highmark building is pretty cool looking. Just an amazing place to take in a game. I recommend going to a game when deGrom is pitching and returning hero Neil Walker hits 2 HRs. https://www.ultimatemets.com/gamedetail.php?gameno=8913 This will make the experience very enjoyable. Then at night, you stumble back to your hotel room and walk over those bridges again. Breathtaking sights.
  21. We need hitting. Go get Dilson.
  22. I'm surprised to see you. Once they started winning I figured you were in Peru.
  23. Should I start advocating for Dilson Herrera again? What year is this? What year is this?!?!?
