Guest cooby classic Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Are we sitting at the wrong end of the couch? Have the pillows fluffed wrong? Wearing the wrong stuff and eating the wrong food?I'm serious.I went to bed last night at 9:30. The Mets were ahead 1-0. I wasn't feeling cocky or anything but I felt it was okay. Last night was my fault.Everybody recheck your positions tomorrow night! I'll be on the far end of the couch with some Rooster Red if I have to be!BTW I only have to bail on Monday and Wednesday nights. Do they have next Monday off? I so, I'll be there for the rest of the games! Well, on the couch at least
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I seriously blame Peanut. He gave up in the middle of the 14th Tuesday night, and last night, got up and went to bed in the bottom of the 8th. I can't have him giving up on us like that.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Nothing I tried worked. My Murphy shirt has lost its mojo.Perhaps I need to go counterintuitive and pull out my Lastings Milledge shirt.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 minimm has been staying up to watch the first innings of these games so far. it appears to be a proximal factor, but i hope to disprove it tomorrow.
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I blame the dumbass Kill KILL KILL mantra. It was ok during the Dodgers series because of Utley, but now it's just plain dumb...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Well, it's ON YOU to find another mantra. DANCE DANCE DANCE? WOCKA WOCKA WOCKA? Give me something.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I blame the hope of playing in Kansas City so that the Mets could be there Opening Day 2016 while the Royals raise the AL Championship flag. Now there's a distinct possibility that the Mets will have to be there to watch the Royals hoist the World Series flag and get their rings.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Yeah. I fucked this up badly too. I saw that Toronto lineup and wanted nothing to do with them. I would love if Toronto tagged in and we had to play them for the remaining 5 games. I don't know about the rest of you, but my good luck seat on the couch, good luck volume setting and lucky drawers are all out of mojo. The only thing I can think of is that I have clearly not been drinking enough. I switch to Glenlivet 12 on Friday night.

Was drinking Maine beers too (though I did switch to a fresh-hop beer from Brooklyn halfway through yesterday) maybe I should break out the Brooklyn Brewery Silver Anniversary.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I have a Halloween party tomorrow night so I'll be largely awol from IGT duty. Maybe that will help! haha

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 My daughter borrowed my Mets cap on Tuesday and wore it to preschool and left it there so I didn't have my cap for either game. I wore that cap for all the Mets postseason wins. I need that cap back.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I think the answer lies in the title to the thread (currently) beneath this one - Blackmail. What can we dig up on Eric Hosmer?Later

Do anything it takes, even if it means becoming the lead story on the 6 O'clock News.Later
Guest sharpie Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I was in California and Oregon for the Cubs series. I was here, however, for the Dodgers series. Thinking about at least leaving my house and watching Game 3 in a bar as maybe the home thing is no longer working.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I wore a non-Mets tee shirt. My laundress has received a stern talking to on this subject. Of course I was wearing a Mets shirt for game 1 also. So, perhaps, I can just blame Obama like the red staters do.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I acted as an adult and honored responsibilities and commitments instead of blowing them off and hopping a plane to go to KC to see the games.I am intending to right that wrong by going to the game Friday night.

willpie Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I left my fitted blue Mets cap at the in-laws' house after the NLCS sweep, and had to wear a less-lucky hat for the last two games. I should have known better; they jumped out to early leads when I wore it, and then locked them down when I took it off. My bad.Edit: I mean, I love my orange Mr. Met hat as much as the next guy, but it's clearly not the uniform for this postseason.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I'm thinking maybe I wasn't drinking enough beer. I'll try to rectify that oversight tomorrow.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I wonder if FanGraphs can accurately plot the correlation betweenfan alcohol intake and team success. I mean it's obvious, right?
