  3. Aaaaand the freefall has begun. It was a good run.
  4. Even recognizing that this is a good kind of problem to have, I am completely baffled about what to do with my team. I've been in first place for so long that I'm terrified to make any moves, but also terrified that I'm going to end up losing because I rested on my laurels as of mid-June. I don't usually find non-money leagues this stressful.
  5. 1. CPF NL-only. 13 teams, no $ 2. An ESPN league I just joined this year with an old friend and a bunch of his coworkers. 10 teams, no $ 3. A a low-ante Yahoo league I have run for my wife, her brothers and a few friends since 2005 or so. 12 teams $25 4. A really weird H2H league on RotoWire. I'm not actually sure how I got in on this one--some local attorneys have been running it since 2003 or so. This will be my second year. I got off to a great start last year, but nosedived out of the money in August and September. 14 teams, $200, 26-man rosters, auction draft, 9 x 9 stats (HR, RBI, BB, R, Avg, H, SB-CS, K,TB+W+HBP x W, IP, K, L, BB, WHIP, ERA, OPPBA, 2x(Saves-Blown Saves)+Holds) If last year is any indication, the latter ends up being the most stress and the most fun. I have noticed that I tend to do worse in H2H than in roto, though. Maybe it's just not my game.
  6. It certainly wasn't me. Though I did manage to poach Livan Hernandez. He's still alive, right?
  7. Yeah, Broxton single-handedly killed me in 2 leagues. At least the CPF league didn't cost me $200.
  8. Last year was my first time doing NL-only, but IIRC, Yahoo defaulted to letting you keep the guy if he's already on your team, but you can't trade him or pick him back up if you drop him.

The one I ran last year won't be back--not enough time with the baby here--so I'm glad someone else feels like having it!
  10. I finished the season 10-4, had won 9 straight, and got bounced in the first round of the playoffs, thanks to a stinker from Tony Romo & Percy Harvin's migraine. I proceeded to dominate the consolation bracket, so I guess I'm king of the losers.
  11. Thought I had a shot at second there, but the wheels are coming off.
  12. Word on the street is my boy will be joining the big club when the rosters expand. The other word on the street is that he's looking more like a ROOGY than the surefire closer they had in mind when they drafted him.
  13. I am stinking up all 3 leagues that I play in. The H2H league (i.e. my least favorite) is the least depressing; I'm just barely under .500 there. This is my worst fantasy season ever. In one league, my brother-in-law asked me to draft his team so he wouldn't get stuck w/ autodraft. Now he's in dead last. It's a whole season of FAIL.
  14. Trade him. You'll get something for him. Think of some players you do want, and start offering Chipper in trade. Someone will bite.
  15. Did I mention I'm loving Pelfrey this year? I was so pumped when I got him, but now I'm worried that if he gets hurt or starts to suck, I'm going to be double disappointed.
