Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Good times. And first time ever, I think, that I couldn't find 2 empty seats together for a mid-game pow-wow.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Was surprised by size of crowd. Was thrilled by its intensity. Was blown away by the FIRST PLACE chants in the stairway. Nice to have a visitor from Maryland drop by.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 There Sunday with the missus and the former poster known as Lenny Harris.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 My brother and a nephew are there. Who's sitting around the area behind home plate? My brother Wayne said he'd be there, about 25 rows back. If you're around there just stand up and yell "WAYNE!".
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 My brother wears Mets gear everywhere. EVERYWHERE! ALL THE TIME!Tonight he's wearing a Spiderman shirt and a Batman hat. Wuss.

Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Anybody thinking about Labor Day in DC? I'm thinking of going, maybe with the missus.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Just got tickets for tomorrow night. Wanted to see the Captain's triumphant return. We will also be representing Mets fans September 6 in Miami. I haven't bought my tickets yet. Yikes, I hope that game is not sold out.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 We'll be there Friday, Saturday and Monday. Hope to see some of you there!
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Going to my first game in about three years. Friday night. I have a question. I bought my ticket through StubHub. My confirmation email says It's easy to get into the event with your phoneJust open the StubHub app and go to 'Current orders' in My Account. Tap your order and then 'View tickets'. Show your ticket at the venue and you're in.My printable ticket saysDO NOT SCAN FROM PHONE AT GATES - MUST BE PRINTEDWell, obviously I'm going to print it. Not taking any chances. But which is it? And can't these guys get their stories straight?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 You have to print. Not every ballpark has the technology to read the barcodes off the screen.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Print. Met gatestaff seem to have intermittent problems with sunny-afternoon scanning of smartphone screens, in my experience.

I mean, technically as long as it's a barcode you can scan it at the gate, as you've been able to do for years and years, (turn the brightness down on the screen helps I think) but I can be flighty and they don't really guarantee it I don't think unless you're using the iPhone iPassport app or whatever that's called.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I selected the smartphone tickets for the game I went to in April because it would be "faster." Instead, the ticket taker had to scan my phone, print out a ticket, and then scan that ticket. And repeat four times, because there were five of us. It was ridonculous. So much for technology.

So much for technology.as usual, this is at least partly a 'PEBKAC' (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair) error. You CAN scan the phone but likely due to the refraction through the glass screen the margin for error is small and most people (you scan yourself at many of the turnstiles) give up before adjusting the phone/angle/distance correctly.

Five times! But instead of just letting us through the turnstiles, it printed a ticket.
