I just got word from the Mets that I lost the lottery for World Series tickets!
Those of you who have been going to the games, how have you gotten your tickets?

Friend of mine got tix through work. They are supposed to be so he can schmooze clients, but he took me instead. And I love him for it.

I actually like to watch at home too. The bathrooms are less crowded and the beer is way cheaper. I'd feel different if I was a short subway ride away though.

I thought about a trip to Wrigley this week, but:

1. I'm super busy with work right now.
2. Tickets are outrageously priced on the secondary market there.
3. Hanging out with 35,000 Cubs fans sounds silly to me (especially if the Mets lose the game).

Number 3. Does not compute.

I haven't been following the secondary market prices for the Cubs* but if the Mets were in a position to win the pennant, I could give a crap who the other fans in the ballpark are.

*I realize it my just be way too much money to pay for the tickets.

The danger for the visiting fan at Wrigley is a swirlie in the trough.

"Insanely" is probably the more accurate adjective.

Even if bought on the secondary market before Game 4 of the NLDS and resold 3 days later you would have doubled your money.

for game 2 I randomly found them on mets.com/tickets one afternoon. for game 1 and potentially 7 I managed to click into the7line presale on time.

Paging Transmonk:

Expect a big price drop in the secondary market for tomorrow's game at Wrigley. Cheapest seat is down to $160...

Got mine from a friend with a connection to the team. He had the opportunity to purchase a block of playoff tix and sold them to me at face value.

So, one of you Game Three attendees is going dressed as Karl Ehrhardt and bringing a "BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?" sign, right? Right?

Yes. Definitely in the Caesar's Club and other clubs.
