So I'm meeting my friend there, he has my ticket. I don't remember... do I need to show them a ticket when I pull into the parking lots, or is that just for the "preferred" spaces?

No need to show a ticket in the parking lot - just bring $25 for parking.

No worries.

Look for us pre-game in Lot E!

I will not be there tonight but would warn all who intend to go -- DO NOT underestimate how frigging cold it will be. Subtract 20 degrees from a as cold as you think it is. LGM

Mine was Game 5 - felt a bit like coming home and finding your wife in bed with Roger Clemens and Derek Jeter.

Ain't that the truth! I don't what it is about that little area there
but it's always so much colder than advertised.

Hopefully there will be decent cell service (probably not with all
those people) but don't forget to check in on the IGT all you game
goers! Let's GO METS!!

The only playoff game I ever attended was 2000 NLCS game 4. Sat in the Mezzanine back rows where the overhang gave a "letterbox effect" to the sightlines. I remember the Mets hit 4 straight doubles to start the game, and everyone would jump up to cheer and then bend their necks down so they could see what was happening.

my battery was shot and my backup battery is busted apparently. oops.

my first October game at Citi but I didn't imagine it much differently than Shea (or Citi in March/April). it's cold.

It was, as the meteorologists say, fucking cold, but manageable. Just wear two to three of everything and you're good.

Matt Harvey is very popular in the stands these days. Amazing what pitching well and his agent S'ingTFU will do for a guy's Q rating.

'Letterbox'. Perfect way to describe the view from those seats. Great view of the field but once the ball rose above the player's heads, forget it. No idea where it was unless you watched the fielders moving towards it.

As to postseason attendance, my first game was Game 5, 1981 WS in L.A. The game where Gossage beaned Cey.

I think I've been to at least one game of every Mets postseason series since except '86. Didn't get a chance to get to any of those.

Worst one was Game 5, 2000 WS.

Ah, the Mezz Cave. Worst seats in the whole building. I sat in 'em for a playoff game in '99 iirc.

I was also at that multi-double game.

Yeah, that was the 'warm' game (76 degrees at first pitch acc to BB-Ref) even though it was a week after the Bobby Jones one-hitter when it was cold as shit (52 claims the same source but you & I were up high for that one and were taking the full brunt of the wind on the backs of our necks the whole time).

On my first-ever visit to Shea, in 1971 when I was eight years old, we had seats deep under the overhang in the Mezzanine. We couldn't see the sky or the scoreboard. My mother raised a stink (she could be good at that!) and got us moved to better seats, I think in the Upper Deck behind home plate, but not too far back.

I learned my lesson from that and never sat in those towards-the-back rows in Loge or Mezzanine again. (And I suspect I never will...)

You should have worked for Baker & McKenzie -- they have a nice suite at Wrigley.

I was at the multi-double game as well, in the last row of section 46 (44?) in the upper reserved. Literally the highest seats in the major leagues at the time.

Is that next to Abe Froman's suite? *Bah dum ching*

The rear seats of the Loge section were no picnic either if I'm
remembering right. I miss Shea, dump that it was.

I have to make a quick business trip to the midwest next week. Kansas City on Wednesday. Same night as WS game 2. Oh, c'mon ROYALS!

I have had the honor of sitting in the very top row of both the old Yankee Stadium (2000) and the new Jacobs Field (early 2000s)

I just got word from the Mets that I lost the lottery for World Series tickets!

Those of you who have been going to the games, how have you gotten your tickets?

[list:2id5y4vi]Are you partial (or full) season ticket holders?

Did you win the lottery?

Buy on StubHub (or something like it)?

Buy at the stadium from a scalper?

Do you know somebody? [/list:u:2id5y4vi]

I'm just asking out of general curiosity. I'm actually content to watch at home at this point in my life. In the 1980's I would have moved mountains to attend postseason games at Shea, but fortunately I didn't have to. I got tickets to one NLCS game in 1986 and one in 1988 and two World Series games in 1986 from having a Sunday ticket plan, and one World Series ticket because I had a friend who had a cousin who had some affiliation with the Mets.

I knew a guy who Knows A Guy.

Holding out hope that guy's Guy comes through for the WS.

I thought about a trip to Wrigley this week, but:

1. I'm super busy with work right now.
2. Tickets are outrageously priced on the secondary market there.
3. Hanging out with 35,000 Cubs fans sounds silly to me (especially if the Mets lose the game).
