I'm in town, thinking of finally breaking the tape on Citi Field.

I'm seeing 'em twice next week in Balto, so I'm not sure.

You totally should!

They have some GREAT burgers there.

Good times. And first time ever, I think, that I couldn't find 2 empty seats together for a mid-game pow-wow.

Was surprised by size of crowd. Was thrilled by its intensity. Was blown away by the FIRST PLACE chants in the stairway. Nice to have a visitor from Maryland drop by.

Anyway, I'll be following along on AtBat/radio at work tonight.

It's like you're on tour with the Mets.

My brother and a nephew are there. Who's sitting around the area behind home plate? My brother Wayne said he'd be there, about 25 rows back. If you're around there just stand up and yell "WAYNE!".

My brother wears Mets gear everywhere. EVERYWHERE! ALL THE TIME!

Tonight he's wearing a Spiderman shirt and a Batman hat. Wuss.

We're one section over from where Wright's homer landed.

I thought you went to the game? By my estimates the home run landed closer to your house...

Just got tickets for tomorrow night. Wanted to see the Captain's triumphant return.

We will also be representing Mets fans September 6 in Miami. I haven't bought my tickets yet. Yikes, I hope that game is not sold out.

They're probably walking around downtown Miami handing out tickets wrapped with Cuban sandwiches just to get people into the park.

Going to my first game in about three years. Friday night. I have a question. I bought my ticket through StubHub. My confirmation email says

It's easy to get into the event with your phone
Just open the StubHub app and go to 'Current orders' in My Account. Tap your order and then 'View tickets'. Show your ticket at the venue and you're in.

My printable ticket says

DO NOT SCAN FROM PHONE AT GATES - MUST BE PRINTED

Well, obviously I'm going to print it. Not taking any chances. But which is it? And can't these guys get their stories straight?

Print. Met gatestaff seem to have intermittent problems with sunny-afternoon scanning of smartphone screens, in my experience.

yeah. I mean, technically as long as it's a barcode you can scan it at the gate, as you've been able to do for years and years, (turn the brightness down on the screen helps I think) but I can be flighty and they don't really guarantee it I don't think unless you're using the iPhone iPassport app or whatever that's called.

I selected the smartphone tickets for the game I went to in April because it would be "faster." Instead, the ticket taker had to scan my phone, print out a ticket, and then scan that ticket. And repeat four times, because there were five of us. It was ridonculous. So much for technology.

as usual, this is at least partly a 'PEBKAC' (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair) error. You CAN scan the phone but likely due to the refraction through the glass screen the margin for error is small and most people (you scan yourself at many of the turnstiles) give up before adjusting the phone/angle/distance correctly.

But he DID scan the phone. Five times! But instead of just letting us through the turnstiles, it printed a ticket.
