Please vote for your top five Mets rookies of 2011. They will be awarded five points for each first-place vote, four for each second-place vote, etc. He with most points after a week is awarded the Crane Pool Forum Dwight Gooden Award for Outstanding Mets Rookie.

By my reckoning, eleven Mets (and former Mets!) potentially qualify for this award: Pedro Beato, Lucas Duda, Brad Emaus, Dillon Gee, Mike Nickeas, Valentino Pascucci, Jason Pridie, Josh Satin, Chris Schwinden, Josh Stinson, and Dale Thayer. Please vote so we may honor the most esteemed of this distinguished class. Tweeters, please spread the good word.

there were 3 hitters and 2 pitchers who played enough to make this list. As to their order:

1 - Duda
Duda's overall offensive impact was more significant, imo, than Gee's IP.
2 - Gee
Gee gets the 2nd slot over Turner's multi-positional mediocrity.
3 - Turner
He carried the team early on (explaining his schaefer points) but faded after thumb injury; he was still a useful player overall.
4 - Beato
up and down, but he showed flashes.
5 - Pridie
well, he showed up.

using my proprietary marathon points metric, i offer the following ranking of metly rookies:

turner 184
duda 174.8

gee 112.6

beato 72.7

pridie 44.25

duda netted ever so slightly more of my schaefer votes, 58.2 to 56, while gee jumps up to 55.1.

m.e.t.b.o.t. has determined, using the same highly advanced and deeply flawed algorithm as described in the tom seaver award thread, that the top performing metropolitan rookies in 2011 were as follows, in descending order:

duda
turner
beato
gee
pridie
