Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Once again, this is a mere formality. I'm pretty sure I know how this one will go.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 As Greg said in his Faith and Fear column today, I've been a diehard Texas Rangers fan since about 11:00 last night.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Giradi is plotting how he'll avoid Cliff Lee in this round.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 We gave them Lee Mazzilli once. So they have that going for them.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I really like Ian Kinsler. He reminds me of a David Eckstein with actual skills.Later
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Conclusive proof that if the Mets had signed Vlad Guerrero and Bengie Molina when they had the chance, and acquired quality character guys like Jeff Francoeur, that they'd be World Series-bound.Oh, wait.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I want Joe Girardi to wear uniform #28 for the rest of his life. And I hope it's a long life.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Replay advocates rejoice! Angel Hernandez is in the crew for the ALCS. After he screws up (and you know this will happen at least once... per game! Am I right people!), the advocates of instant replay will have an even stronger case.http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/39674387/ns/sports-baseball/

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 The current tally of Rangers 25 MFYs 0 spread over four games would really work nicely.

Assuming they're playing the Giants. 'Cause I think that would be fun.

Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 a plague upon both their houses --
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Whereas I'm kind of rooting FOR the Giants (like the pitching, like the Panda, like the oldies, like the fanbase, like the town), I'm pretty much ONLY rooting against the MFYs here. It also occurs to me that I don't particularly enjoy watching the Rangers (as I do, say, the Rays), and that I kind of enjoy watching the MFYs suffer. So, while losing will more or less shut up the fans-- and, frankly, be preferable-- I would be okay with their getting through to face a hale, healthy opponent in the next round, so long as they're sufficiently-- read: Job in pinstripes-- tenderized, and for 6-7 extra-inning games. The enjoyment would derive from watching a "powerless" Giants team demoralize the MFYs for 4-5 games after doing so to the Phils, and-- I really do sound like Rajahs here, don't I?
