I would think there are MLB restrictions on using that official logo.

I think so too. That's why I created the third version, using the highway font.

I think Ben is on to something with this signage. Can the blue and orange of Mets more closely match the coloring of the official logo in the first sign?

I looked up the official shade, and tried that. It's quite a bit darker.

Okay, just sayin’, and I’m just one person…I think this is perfect!

The kerning is a bit much and it could use a little more pizzazz but the it's a solid design idea.

Out of curiosity, why the road sign motif? It seems out of sync with the name itself.

How about "Grand Central Mets"? The 7-Line has co-opted the name of the subway that goes to Shea, I mean, Citi. We could do the same with the highway that goes there. It also suggests that the site is a hub of activity.

Not being from New York you'd obviously associate Grand Central with the train terminal rather than the parkway.

But while the terminal is certainly more famous, the parkway is more Mets-ian.

I'm all for Willets Point.

I don't live in the five boroughs, but I know how to get to the ballpark.

Not at all. The name "Grand Central" comes from the Grand Central Parkway, which is the highway that leads to Citi Field.

Ahhhhhh, that makes way more sense.

I hoped to loop back on this today, but was overwhelmed trying to get community awards posted for other sites.

Tomorrow, I will adapt this green sign concept into a group of designs, and you all can vote on which you like the most.

If you're going to do a roadsign - or a subway sign - you need to match the font exactly.

I feel like the Mets are more associated with trains than highway traffic

Is there a problem (trademark?) with using the Mets script?

Magic 8 Ball says, 'It Is Most Likely.'

Any other love for Willets Point Mets?

Iron Triangle Mets? Unisphere Mets? LaGuardia Mets?
