Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 DBacks and Mets. It's April. But tie-breakers matter!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Tuesday Night Mets will be back.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Hope they still have some runs left over after yesterday.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Interesting. The pitching matchup is my girlfriend's maiden name vs my ex-wife's maiden name.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Man, the Mets are actually good.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Off to a good start tonight, anyway.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Pile it on. All this with Soto yet to hit. It's like some kind of dream
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Two more hits for Acuna who's now hitting over .300 I am told. Looks like a damn hitter he does
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Boy, everything coming up Milhouse tonight.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 That rib eye marks 33 runs in the last 21 innings. So that's pretty good
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Ok that ground ball was also ridiculous !
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 And then Taylor ! Christ I think maybe this is not even real
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Ty Tay, professional airborne outfielder!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 That may be the best defensive 1-2-3 by a Mets team that I ever watched. All three of those plays were exceptional.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Mets are 4.5 games up, currently the largest lead in the majors. And they're still hitting just .246 as a team.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Pete scorched that ball. Line shot home run off the facing of the second deck.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 I can't even watch the game and this is astounding.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 I have been sick all day (can't post, puking), and while I have woken up and am delighted to see the score, the color of Álvarez' mask and other bright yellow graphics used in the broadcast are triggering my gag reflex. Here I go ... .
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 The booth has noticed as well. Some days it all clicks. So far that is today.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Yesterday, I was thinking "These guys are playing like they're PISSED!!" Today, too. Maybe this is the upside of blowing two straight to the Nats?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Why is Peterson out of the game after 5 IP?Is he ok?Later
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 Yesterday, I was thinking "These guys are playing like they're PISSED!!" Today, too. Maybe this is the upside of blowing two straight to the Nats? Are you asking a question? The answer is yes. The Mets are winning because they were pissed. Teams can just turn it on at will and win whenever the hell they feel like it. And when they lose, it's because they didn't feel like winning on that day. Because there's no luck or randomness in anything and the team that wins is always the team that wanted to win more than the other team did. In fact, the DBacks probably decided that they wanted to lose tonight's game. And so when you have a game where one team wants to win and the other team wants to lose, you get a romp like tonight's breezer.
