10/5. No more of this "give it your all and decimate your bullpen and then fly a thousand miles and do it again tomorrow" nonsense.

We're in gravy time now. This is what I had voted for two months ago as "what would it take for you to consider this a successful season" - to me it meant advancing farther and acquitting themselves better than the 2022 squad that limped in and then flopped. So they've done that.

But now I want more. I'm greedy. Keep winning, keep playing.

We've been Cranepooling here for 20 years or so and this is as root-root-rooty I've ever seen Ben Grimm. It's like a whole nother side of you!

My heart is getting into this run too. What a week it has been

I truly believe the Mets can win the whole thing. There are no superteams to run into

Surreal stuff is happening now also and that's the Mets to me

Courtesy Tim Britton:

In the last 3 years, the Mets have faced Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola a combined 15 times. The Mets won 12 of those games.

I have lots of Philly fan friends and they are scared. They don't like running into a team on a mission.

When we were in London on the Tube coming back from the second game in June, we were talking with a few friendly Philly fans on the train. As we got off at our stop I said, 'see you in the playoffs'. We all laughed. Wonder what they're thinking now.

As much as I'm looking forward to these games, I'm so glad we get an off day. Not just for them, for us.

I'm serious. I'm not sure I'm cut out for post-season baseball.

Yes, it's nice to be able to take a breather.

I'm remembering how much fun October 2015 was. I've been wanting another month like that. Maybe this will be it.

I definitely don't remember much about individual games or moments from 2015, though I watched every inning of that Mets postseason, but I definitely remember enjoying all of those extra weeks of Mets baseball. More = better

I don't either. I remember Utley breaking Tejada's leg, that Game 5 against the Dodgers was especially tense, the homer that Familia gave up against the Royals in Kansas City in Game 1, and Matt Harvey asking to close out Game 5 and not doing it.

WOW!

He must have been working out in more secrecy than the new stealth bomber.

Zero. Acuna's a better defender/plays more positions and is a faster runner.

If Baty makes it it's because of injury or in lieu of an extra pitcher.

I'd be happy to see 'em both.

But obviously, Acuña's versatility, fungibility, athleticism, and (frankly) productivity speak for themselves.
